Raves are dead !?
After reading Alex D.'s comment about raves being dead and done with...I had to ponder.....????
So what about Hullabaloo, Nightmare, Big Bud, OM, BLA, Empire, etc. etc. ???? Are they not raves ??? So does this mean that ALL raves are dead or just the ones that Alex supports are dead........?????????? |

I stand by my previous comments about AlexD.
He is an old man that should stick to Sunday Afternoons, which are more his speed. Just because Pleasure Force, Nitrous, Better Days, LA, blah, blah, blah have gone by the wayside, I suppose he thinks that there's nothing left to represent. Just to add to the 'bomber's list, what about Smerk, Resistor, Freespace Collective?

re
Maybe he just ment the marketing aspects of the rave.
You cant call things rave anymore without having somekinda stigma attached to it. Thats why Echo underground parties are advertised as "old school" for the nostalgic feeling of what it was once like to be at a rave. lol Even the whole idea of 'concept' parties has been attached. |

The rave music is becomming more main-stream. like the other day i heard "old-school" happyhard-core tracks that where turned into "dance music" tracks. I hate it. They where on a natio-wide radio station. Like the true partiers know that true meaning of a party, the music. but it's hard to come to and enjoy the music when alot of the people, who dont know what it's all about...just i dunno it's frustrating.
chaio.

What I don't understand is, why do people keep trying to make things as they were... I mean, the scene has evolved, and it's not going back, so why complain.. just make the best of what you got, and enjoy.
I don't have problems with the events I attend.. I dance, and have fun.. does anything else really matter? If anything it's more safe nowadays... and well as for the music being on the radios, it was bound to happen, as more and more people start to listen to it. I don't take it as a negative. |

RAVES ARENT DEAD!
wHY? Be/cuz I sed so BIOTCH!!!! The way I see it. There are two kinds of people in the scene, (and the world in general) Type of person# 1 : NICE PEOPLE - These people are the ones that put thier heart into thier danceing and jump around like a rabbit who just had a gram of meth injected into thier butthole. They are the ones that create the spirit we all love. They are the ones that smile at everyone, Hug everyone, pass out stickers, bracelets, drugs, etc. to everyone, and wear really cool NON-MAINSTREAM clothes! (not necessarily but typically) Type of person#2: MEAN PEOPLE - A.K.A. Corporate casualties. These people dress very conservatively, scoff at everyone they see, and sit in the corner looking pissed off the whole night because thier too insecure to chill out. These people should all be rounded up into death camps and gassed. They are solely responsible for the apparent "death" of the rave spirit. But, for those that know better, one must look inward for the spirit they feel is missing and, yes, dance like nobody is Fukin watching!!
