Bio + few questions about wemf
Hey guys!
This is only my 2nd post.. hopefully my other one doesn't show since I messed it up... Well I'm very new to the hulla scene.. trying to make a good impression. *hugs* everyone! Incase you want to see I've uploaded some picture you can see here. Okay well I'm 20 (21 in sept.), live in Windsor, Ontario. I'm a system admin for a local ISP called WINCOM, and like to party party party!!! Okay time for my question... I've already missed out on the early bird tickets for wemf, but plan to go friday, sat, and sunday.. Already took monday off to relax . Can I just show up friday and buy a ticket for $80, or will it then be $95? If it's gonna be more expensive, where can I get tickets before the door? Also are people more or less friendly? I might end up going by myself the first night until a couple of my friends can find me on Sat... but I don't want to be walking around alone . So if you see me please say hi! |

heh heh heh
its going to be my 1st WEMF as well. That bold approach, wwhere you just walk up and say hi works. Its how I managed to meet all kinds of people last weekend. (and like you I can be somewhat shy at times) Its all good man, we're all there for the same thing... to make new friends and have some fun.

You'll only need ID if you plan to drink. You'll need a tent to sleep in, or else you'll have to rely on the kindness of strangers. Bring more money than you think you'll need, food and water are expensive. Any more questions?

Yes you can, and it's a really good idea to at least have something small like granola bars to keep you going. The food is waaay expensive, and last year it wasn't very good. Some people even bring those small grills to cook on. Just make sure that if you bring anything to drink it is unopened, or else they won't let you take it in.

Every year things get awfully muddy due to rain and spilled water and thousands of people stomping around, so I would highly recommend a tent unless you plan on sleeping in one of the music tents, which I don't suggest you do. I had to do that last year, it's loud and security keeps waking you up to make sure you're not dead. As for money, unless you plan on spending a fortune on illicit substances you can get by on well less than a hundred. And I have never seen anybody get carded at a 16+ event, so I wouldn't be concerned. |

^ about the $, I think it was Bucky that said it best. Just stash a $20 somewhere (if no tent in your sock). So at least if all goes wrong at least you'll have a $20 to help you out.

If you buy food and bring it with you, it's much cheaper...but as long as you don't eat very much you can buy food there with $60. I think I spent around $20 on food last year, but I don't eat a lot at all. Prices are the same as for any carnival booth or whatever, you'll be looking at $4 to $5 for pretty much anything. I don't know what the shuttle costs, but I do know that it leaves from Nathan Phillips Square. |
