Made Believe. The Happy Hullabaloo that was.
Well, I had a ball. Thanks again Chris for throwing down a first class event.
The line was a little long... more security ppl at the door would have been good, cuz it was awfully cold out there. Then again, it's my own fault for getting there at 9:10... duh. I'm gonna start with my complaints, which are few and minor. There was a lot of bumping and shoving going on from ppl walking around and rushing the stage for giveaways... it just seemed that there were a few peeps who were in a big hurry to get somewhere, and didn't care much for moving BETWEEN people. Secondly, there were a whole lot of MC's at one time- maybe having MC's assigned to specific sets would be a good idea for the future. The sound system itself was awesome, but when any MCing was going on, the speakers seemed to peak, and I couldn't understand a word they were rhyming. My last whiny complaint is MORE ANTHEMS!!! White labels are good, so are remixes, but too many in a row took me from dancing my ass off to standing and doing the head-bob. On the other hand, the venue wasn't too packed, nobody sat in the middle of the dance floor... The security guys were friendly and quick, the friendship crew was in full effect. I saw a few peeps swapping bracelets, stickers and signing books, which is a good thing in my candy-kid mentality. I was hoping to see more crazy outfits, but the plastic pants chick and the Tony the Tiger guy made up for some of that... props go out to them. I saw all smiling faces, heard my share of "Happy HullabaLOO!"s, heard some great tunes, and enjoyed myself thoroughly. I promise to not have another 6 month rave drought after this one. For those who may have met me and not known it was I: I was the dashingly handsome fellow wearing blue phat pants with a block-letter chain, white sleeveless dress shirt, tie, a few bracelets and my faithful old Expos hat, up at the front nearly all night "speaker fucking" Shouts go out to: cinnybun- ur as cute as you are sweet. KarmiKandie- the classic glowstickin' rump shaker! TiggerInParadise- as nice a fellow as I've met. teknoprincess- just as sweet as I remembered. *hugz* Gobstoppa- I guess you were more surprised to see me than I was to see you? SpEcS- good luck in Buffalo, and stay away from the GAP. Kwik- It wasn't me. Honest Frisky- your set was the hilight of my night. Much respect to ya! And to everyone else who I may have run into during last nights festivities, HAPPY HULLABALOO! PLURsquared MCED |

Hullabaloo massive,
First of all big up yo'self for one hell of a party last night! The numbers proved that hardcore is FAR from dead, the partiers were 'avin it large! Sharkey Sharkey Sharkey... What else can I say? DJ/MC Sharkey proved (although he didn't have to) to Toronto why he remains at one of the BEST in the hardcore scene. POUNDING 1-hour set, you know something's right when the dj's have a bigger grin and are dancing as hard as the partykids!!! I hadn't done a review in a while, only because I'll only write about something that's totally beyond any expectations. *Thank you again Chris*

all i can say bout last night.........BAAAAAD.....ASSSS!!!
shakey - the sickest f'n dj out there period. (can't wait till bonkers 8 comes out). Especially when he dropped that PSA song...i was like whhhhhhhhhhhhattttt!!!. This is the year of hardcore with traxx like that. wasn't too crazy bout frisky's set.....tooo many euro house remixes. Except for the last track...... I want that remix of I wanna be a hippy. twitch and satori - my 2nd fav set. Man i love hard trance and nrg....especially when they get scratchin and stuff. that was pure badness. Ne1 wayz that was my first hulla, and a very memorable experience, i danced my ass off. I know i gotta go broke gettin some new traxx. . L8s....PLUR |

What an absolutely wikkid night. All the sets from top to bottom rocked my ass! OMG SHARKEY!!!!! All the things I've heard about Sharkey and how much of a hardcore nutta he is were so very true. I think he was going off more than the partiers were.
Cheers to Virus for spinning with me. "Giant steps are what you take ........... " Such a classic CHOON that I haven't heard spun out in AGES! Thanks to all the people who stuck around to the very end. I hope we made it worth it Hullabaloo's still rockin' it after all these years!

This was definitley a really good party indeed
I flew in from Winnipeg on wednesday after a 6 month absence from the toronto scene.. surprised soooo many people with my presence it was great some knew I was coming and I got to see them too! soo many shoutouts it's unreal i can't even begin to even imagine the people I met - even people whom I forget their name came up to me and knew my name from when I partied in BUffalo early this time last year.. that's cazy.. I wish I had a memory like that... HIGHLIGHTS: Lineup - this was just too funny we got there pretty late and we still ended up being the first 10 people let in cause everyone was lining up at the WRONG DOOR! hahaha The Bar - hmmm 19+ is great... all i can say that I was he FIRST one upstairs.. haha I feel like such a drunk but man drunken hullabaloo fun! but 4.50 is kinda expensive tho.. compared to what I'm used to paying 2.25 in winnipeg for the same stuff.. (1$ on mondays haha) djs- Dminus - I think the set of the night goes to him.. all those anthems after anthems.. hmm.. cream my pants indeed!! I didin't really like Sharkey's set and his own MCing.. just didin't work out.. and as someone mentioned above.. with the Music overpowering the MCs.. I mean I love my MCs and love to hear what they got to rhyme but yo ucouldin't jear much at all ahh well As for the vibe - hmm not too sure exactely what i was looking for when it came to a vibe.. I mean hulla's do attract the younger crowds but I don;t I guess being a candy kid these days compared to a few years ago have really changed.. I mean they look like martians these days .. we need more techno/Anime kids Security - great job guys as always - - keeping us in tunes.. and a small word of advice for those couple of peple who choose to deal at parties... guys it's just not worth it. trust me on this one.. and to the kiddies who overdue on the drugs... man.. take care of yourselves!! |

Respect to the security for being firm but friendly. Also is was nice how it was hot on the dancefloor but once you got off it it was nice n cool =) wish i met more of you ravers out there, next time!

I got LOSTA "Happy Hullabaloos!" from people... and as snowBL(i)ND said, i heard it more that I heard "Merry Christmas!" in December I went with some friends, I knew a few people there and left with so many more! Aleks I'm so glad you came! *hugs!* Acre of cheese sticks! Krys Happy cardboard!!!!!!!! Steve LoL, i kept seeing your head over top the croud Dorothy Thanks for the glow stick hun! HAPPY HULLABALOO EVERYBODY!!!!!
Now thats out of my system, Last night was my first rave in over a year and I had an awsome time. Unfortunatly I got there late because my ride never showd up (You'll pay for that Dean!!!) P.L.U.R. I finally got on the dance floor near the end of D-minus' set, it was rockin' from what I heard. All the sets were amazing but I must say Sharkey took the cake for me, get that crazy brit to play at Hulla again. Frolic's set was awsome as well, gee I was soooo suprised he played "make beleive though" :-p (jokes) You rule frolic. Silver1 and Virus were great as well, when Silver1 spun John Gotti's revenge I flipped out, my fav. happy hardcore track. I met so many awsome people last night too. Hey Ashley!!!!!! BIG HUG!!! You can e-mail me at mrmagoojesse@sympatico.ca or contact me on ICQ (4476143) if ya want. Can't wait to hear from ya! Alright Ive resisted joining the hulla thread cause of fears of being a multiple boardwhore, but with this party, I couldn't help it. Im hoping I can be cheesier for this review than in TR, because I want to say this: You, all of you, this is going to sound pathetically sappy, but you are ALL my friends. Whether I met you last night or not, you are. **BIG HUGE HUG TO ALL OF YOU**
What do I have to say about this party? Well I screamed my ass off in the TR board review thread so I'll try a different angle. How bout just: " W O W" ....I have been raving since September 2001, but I have never, ever, ever, ever experienced the vibe I had last night. I honestly don't know how to describe it. ("crazy hullabaloo spirit" is such a pale understatement ...venue was great (echoey and sketchy in places / at times but hey, I have fun in those conditions!! Better than somewhere all sparkly CLEAN lol.... Just a few mentions of incidences because this post is intended to stress my undying love for all of you!! ....Sharkey: this man has officially turned me on to whatever the hell dark crunchy hard shit he was playing. My brain was having sex with my mind all through his set...(picture it kiddies) And right after that trance set, absolutely PERFECT placement Hulla. Thank you Hullabaloo for a night I am sure I will never forget. just quickly...Jolene and Chris, thanks for keeping me company guys, I realised how much great friends you are Laura/Brook/Nosh/rest of the aurora crew, I wonder if you guys post here? Great talk we had throughout Twitch/Satori. Thats about it but all of you remember, I just gave you all a hug, you're now officially my friend. :b -- Carl (Fender o0o Bender on other boards) ICQ 20902904 |

@#$%^&*
Laura is all raved out. And I loved every fuckin minute of it The only thing I found somewhat irritating was at points there were all 4 MC's onstage at once...it just got too cluttered and confusing...but most of the night was fine for that. Music was WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!@#$% BAD ASS. That is all. *dances* I fucking LOVE. Sharkey - you best be coming back here soon. You are amazing. All the HHC DJ's, yay fun as usual, Donny never a dull moment, Chris I LOVE YOU FOR PLAYING MY TRACK!!! Frolic amazing as always, Tyco & Psyklone, that was the first time I've ever seen you two play together, well done Virus & Silver1(?) it's a shame your set got cut short It was still really good though. Trance trance...Twitch & Satori - Nick I never got to see you, you suck :P great set though...and JORY! I love. You so crazy All my friends were there, I had a blast....amazing party Kellie I'm gonna fuckin miss you girl I hope you have a blast in BC. *hugz forever* I love you! ...and I wanna tell *someone*...not saying who...not even sure if they read these things...but they know who they are.....the best parts of my night was when I was with you... You're amazing. ps - Sean thanks for the...uh....water.
