In a perfect world we would be celebrating our 4 year anniversary on June 23rd. Unfortunately, just like last year the party is in danger of being postponed till the fall due to a lack of suitable venues we can use.
The only venues I could even consider are ones that have held successful raves in the past. That makes it truly slim pickings. I stopped hunting for new venues after the View to a Thrill party because if something were to go wrong, being in a licensed legit establishment is the only way I wouldn't be crucified by the authorities and media. The rhythm of life party solidified that decision. Can anyone imagine what might have happened had that party taken place in a dodgy venue? I would consider throwing a smaller event again, unfortunately there aren't many options open for that either. Opera House is booked solid through june, and we have WEMF in July so I couldn't have a party too close to that one as they would compete with one another. And there is no way a company like Hulla would consider some of the other shithole smaller venues. Anyways, I haven't totally given up on June just yet, as there is still time, but I just wanted to give everyone an update on that. |

Palais Royale would be a pretty good venue. its only one room, outdoor chill area, very nice venue. it even has a stage that you can actually dance on and not skip the records!
and from what ive been told its not all that expensive.

Skylounge hasn't been used in a while, i don't think? If not crowded it's actually a really nice venue...
Did you check there too? =tina= |

Here's hoping! Hulla's one of the few events that gets me out going mad lately. Unfortunately, I couldn't stay long at Group Hug, so I didn't get my full fix.

Well I'm really looking forward to the next hulla, but I think that Frolic is doing the right thing by only wanting to use a safe and legal venue, it really shows how hullabaloo puts the saftey and comfort of there party goers above all else.
I hope you can work something out for this summer but worst comes to worst i guess we'll all have to wait till october. Jeff |

no ShOcKthaMoNkY!
sky lounge was not shutdown for selling liquor after 3am... the law is 1:30 but who's counting... i know first hand because i had that venue booked when it got shut down(that's where THE BEACH PARTY was to be thrown). Sky Lounge went under... the owner went bankrupt... it is still possible to throw events there last i checked... as long as you have liability insurance(like hulla must... no insult intended)the owners will rent... but then again last i checked was the week b4 the beach party after we lost our $3000 deposit and the real estate company that repossessed the venue felt sorry for us... they still want $7000 grand more... selfish bastards...
aw well... check into the newz once again.... the venue connected to it is throwing club nights now! i'm still wishing that someday someone will throw a party inside of ontario place... a big one... with tents in different sections... save that for wemf 2002!(this will never happen) |

Why not bring the party to Hamilton. We don't have many parties here but we do have a great party spot. It's in the lazer tag building on Parkdale. I went to my first party there and it rocked. There are two main rooms and four little rooms upstairs. Inside all of these is four ramps, two floors, meshed in balconys on the inside wall of each room overlooking the dance floor below, blacklights and blacklight paint splashed allover the place. Also there's a huge chillen area outside with scrapped cars along the outter side in which many tired out ravers found their relax spot for the night. Check it out!

R U talking about laser Vortex? I thought that place had gone under..
I don't think it's called laser Vortex, but I could be wrong. I think it's called Fubar, either that or it's right next to Fubar. It's been so long since I've been there. It's where "Hit the Breaks" was held last Augest. If anyone attended that party. |

Just for fun...
I think my Toronto guys (Fil, Phill, and Clark) should have Hulla at their house. The house party they had the night after the last Hulla was phenomal. DJ Adrian spun there and everything. They have a room in their house full of sand, so it's like a beach. In the summer I hear they bust out the kiddie pool in there too. They also had a bedroom with the floor covered in matresses and 300 ballons in there which were about 2 and a half feet deep. Maybe I could talk them into it. Doubtful.

I grew up in oshawa we aleays used to go rollerskating at this place in Whitby called Wheelies huge wikkid space for a party. I don't know if it is still even there Im talking like 10 yrs ago. I know Whibty is far espially 4 me I live in Barrie now.
Just helping tha cause HEATER OUT ps I've always thought going to a party without relasing any of the DJ's playing or the location. Dont relase the location untill the day of. I think it would be cool not knowing untill you get there. And you know hulla would bring the goods and definatley not dissapoint. HEATER OUT The flyer could just be a big ? with a slash across the top so it looks like the :h) Just an idea I would go [Edited by HEATER on May 12th, 2001 at 11:27 AM] |
