Based on the several PMs I received plus the several concerns posted in the shoutbox after my offhand comment in the shoutbox (something like "my stress level just went up by a factor of ten"), I seem to have perturbed people.

Let me say here that nothing has happened, nothing has changed, everything is still on track. It's normal that when you're throwing an event for that many people, when you realize there's only one week left, you start feeling stressed. We've thrown so many events and I still always get stressed. I always have what I call "promoter nightmares" - for example, last night's nightmare was that the owner of the Opera House called us on the Thursday before the party to say the OH had been demolished and so we had 24 hours to try and find a new venue. So we booked a McDonald's PlayPlace and we were trying to hold the movie premiere there, and there were all these little kids running around screaming, and some raver got stuck in the plastic PlayPlace tunnels, and it was just awful. Even though the nightmares are usually absurd like that, it still FEELS real during the dream and then you wake up with your heart pounding, thinking you should have picked a less stressful endeavor (such as being a stunt driver, bomb technician, day-care worker, etc).

So yeah, no worries. Everything's fine re: my personal life and the party. But it never fails that when I wake up in the morning and realize there's only a week left until an event we're throwing, I start feeling the promoter stress.

I empathise with Robin and Frolic for all the hard work they have to contribute in addition to their regular jobs and taking care of Frolic Jr., and I empathise with the people who paid 4 months ago and don't have a ticket. By this time next week we'll only remember the good stuff, so don't let it getcha down.

I hope the ticketless minority is guaranteed to get in, though!

I think they got rid of all the ball pits. The one near me doesn't have any balls in it anymore; Frolic's suspicion is that it was just too hard to clean out after little kids pee in it, whereas my suspicion is that they got rid of it because kids were always throwing the balls out and making a mess on the floor. But having crawled through more than one smelly pee-spot while trailing Moo in various PlayPlaces (note: Moo was not the creator of said smelly spots, he wears diapers), I can't discount Frolic's hypothesis.
