Who do you want to see?
If you add up the Hulla residents (minus Subsonic Chronic, who has moved out west), there are some timeslots left to fill.
Anabolic Frolic D-Minus (he'll come back) Elixir Frisky Silver1 (Frolic already sort of confirmed he'd be back) That leaves three sets to fill. So who would you like to see them filled by? My picks (feel free to pick more than three): Grimace vs Dominik: These two legends were booked fairly regularly in the early Hulla days. It'd be one hell of a treat to see them back rocking some proper oldschool hardcore, like back in the day. No Left Turn: West Coast Donny has earned himself legend status in the North American hardcore scene. His sets are full of a variety of all forms of hardcore (including many of his own productions, alongside Reese, Cracker Jack, and many others, including yours truly), along with insane tricks, four turntable mixes, and crazy stage antics (usually involving burritos and/or five bucks). If there is to be a headliner for the reunion party, Donny is my pick hands down. Spinz: Come on, the guy DJ'd with a MUPPET! Oh yeah, and he plays proper dancefloor oriented DnB too. His sets always stood out for me as far as DnB at Hullas went. Tranzit vs Wolf: The FPS boys always deliver a slamming set, regardless of how hard Tarnzit has hit the bar beforehand. They'd be a perfect addition in the 10PM slot, where the party really starts to kick off. Ruffage vs Serenity: Following the tradition of having an up and comer who has proven their worth play the opening slot, these two would make a perfect addition. Though Ruffage has played Hulla several times, Serenity has not. Both are working hard in the hardcore scene, Serenity as a producer and vocalist, and Ruffage as producer and mastering engineer. They've both done work for some of the biggest names in hardcore and a Hulla booking would be the perfect reward for all their hard work. Milo: Another person who has been working hard in the hardcore scene. He has multiple releases out and on their way, and his DJ sets are always top notch. In addition, he could quite possibly arrange to have the entire event broadcast live on Digitally Imported Radio. Tranzit (again?) vs Saiyan (hey it's me!): Paul and I are among very few representatives of Toronto's hardcore scene who stuck around the board as regulars long after Hulla ended, basically becoming honorary moderators of the music forum. As an integral part of the Hullaboard community I think it'd be fitting for us to play. But what do I know, I don't even really work here! Also, some suggestions for additions to the five residents slots. Anabolic Frolic vs Silver1: For many, Happy Hour marked the best part of their week. People all over the world tuned in every single week to listen to Frolic and Silver1, myself included. Sometimes my mom too! Something about a Happy Hour reunion set just seems right to me. Frisky vs. Hujib: These two have really blown up across the globe, recognized by many as the best artists on Next Generation Records. Their tag sets are nothing short of legendary, perfect for the Hulla stage. D-Minus vs Saiyan (hey it's me again!): Since Donny retired, the hardcore scene has been missing something. A certain...as the French would say....I don't know what. The lack of Donny's trademark cheesey sets full of quick mixing and tricks, capped off by his wild stage antics (and massive bar tab) left a gap that I've tried like hell to fill. How successful I've been, is not for me to say. It'd be an honor and a priviledge to play with Donny on the Hulla stage, as sort of a changing of the guard set. Think Fast Forward, but with a lot more beer. That's about it for my picks, what about you guys?

To narrow it even further, summer 1999 - Brisk, Ham and/or Jon Doe aka CLSM (missed him first time I glanced at the flyers)
That's who I'd come out to see for sure |

only 3 slots to fill? hey i dont like the defeatest attitude... who knows... frolic may choose to make the hulla reunion a larger scale event than the previous bi-monthly hullas... i would certainly like to see that... why would they only book 1 uk headliner? i vote for 2 or more uk headliners on the bill... id like to see another live pa w live female vocalist... maybe like a breeze styles thing w karen danzig?? that would take care of the 2 uk headliners and karens sweet heavenly voice would be icing on the cake...<3 or maybe dmo and scott brown? (no scott brown without dmo tho) or hey... how about shipping in some j-core like dj sharpnel?? that would be fukking crazy style... or hey im not opposed to dj sy either but u need like mc storm or maybe dj unknown to make that act complete for the hulla reunion... this party is to be a real slammer... that means a slammin lineup... oh i would love to see CLSM btw... that would make up for any potential shortcomings... and may i reccomend dj BEET FREEK (http://www.myspace.com/rebelallianceproductions) |

There's only one room at the Opera house, and there's only so many hours they'll stay open for.
It could maybe go 8-6 or 7. As for multiple UK headliners, I doubt that's gonna happen. This is meant to be a Hullbaloo reunion, not "throw a massive party bigger than any Hulla that ever happened after the move to the Opera House". |

John Doe to drop Braveheart. I'm more excited to see Saffron in Mickey Mouse gear. |

who said it has to be @ the opera house?
frolic himself said it wasnt gonna be like the "final hulla" which was a local showcase at the old operahouse... Quote:
id also feel good about headliners... that sounds rather "joyous and euphoric" to me! im sure chris has bigger plans for this than u think... he is after all one of the greatest party promoters in the continent...isnt he?? why wouldnt he go all out ??? The reunion party also marks the return to Hullabaloo’s hallowed home at the Opera House in Toronto. “There was really no question if we were to do this, where it should be held,” Frolic said. “The Opera House was as big a part of Hulla as anything else and it will be a tremendous feeling to walk through those doors again, knowing what the night holds.”

Frolic said it was going to be at the Opera House. He has also said in the past he'd never throw a party anywhere else, because the Opera House is a proven safe, reliable venue that's incredibly easy to work with, with great sound (minus the dead zone at the front of the stage) and friendly professional security. And it's a reunion. The purpose of a reunion is to re-unite the people involved. You don't throw a high school reunion and then invite a guy from the school down the street do you? Why would this be any different? That's why I think there won't be a headliner. However, I will shit my pants if a certain DJ with a name consisting of two letters is playing. Quite literally. I'll take video and post it on youtube. |

Hujib definitely deserves to be on there, his set was one of my favorites at AGT. And for another up n comer, Leela!! She kicks so much ass. |

I almost forgot.
There's a need for two more MCs. One to replace Kwik (unless he's coming back too), and one to fill in for E.D. who last I heard wasn't going to be around that weekend. My votes go to END and Rukkus |
