yoyo..
Thanks for the hulla love. I arrived at the party around 3:45am to a sea of faces. I had 'nuff people welcoming me back into the hulla arena. Some people had comments about my absence. Other were too young to remember. Basically, Im just a vibey dJ and it was a pleasure sharing my vibe with those on the dance floor. I recorded my set so to the Mc's... Sooooooooooo sorry I didn't listen when you called for a rewind. I was in the zone and I didnt want to ruin the recording. Thanks again Hope everyone has fun at the last Hulla. The next time you'll see me is at email 6year Or in calgary on May 28

my overall reviews:
i didnt hear no frills or silver 1 frisky ripped shit up though, lots of gabber, lots of really good really hard stuff spice was very good for trance in the middle of the night, i quite liked him then scott brown, my friends were bitching about his set but it was exactly what i expected and what i thought it should've been his biggest tracks... rock you softly, turn up the music, boomstick, memories, back and forth mixed with some insaaaane gabber some of the best gabber ive ever heard but he really needs 2 hours just as he was getting really thrilling his set ended frolic played ok but soooo slowly compared to scott then uhmmm after him was supposed to be euphonic and everybodies daddy vs mc jd, jd's return to hardcore for one last night euphonic was fucking awesome, all oldschool happy hardcore, wicked tracks you almost never get to hear at hulla... and everybodies daddy was doing really well for that set but JD didnt show at all JD would've made my night so much better instead, when mcfly came on he drops let your backbone slide and everybodies daddy is spewing the same four words over and over the vocals then he did it to sure shot... i'm sorry, i don't care if you're mc storm, you CAN'T step to the beasties and you shouldn't be trying to like.... if it ain't broke, don't fix it, and if it's breaks, PUT THE MIC DOWN! mike, you're a great guy, you're one of my favourite hardcore mcs, i thought you were unbelievable holding down euphonic despite being forced to go it alone... but really, breaks gotta be left alone to do their own thing mcfly's t-shirt was his icq number written huge lol he just made 800 new friends d-minus was a sick closer i was talking to my friend and he randomly asked what my favourite happy hardcore track was and i said nothing is forever and also take me away and he's like oh ya right but really pitched up right and im like ya and then d-minus dropped it like it was his next track i had a great night, but the hulla definitely felt more restrained than normal. maybe its just because I was being more restrained than normal, though

ok i'll guess that this is the review thread, but chances are someone will make another one...
SO here it goes: Awesome wicked fantastic night! Got to the pre-meet around 8:20, met up with some people, chatted with some people, then weava and h2bt came in with all sorts of fun stories, that was fun. then we headed over to the venu, and i got there just in time to hear no-frills (i think it was atleast) spinning a harcore remix of satallite which I've never heard, but that being one of my favorite vocal trance songs I was freaking out. Then sliver1 and frisky, no surprises really, great sets as always but the best set of the night would have to go to Scott Brown hands down. I missed last time he played here, and now i see why he is king. Simply amazing. I also liked to see that he looked like he was throughly enjoying himself up there, that was good. The worst part of his set was that I had to piss really really badly starting from like the 2nd track so I wasn't moving all that i could. Frolic your set was as well good, but I missed a bit of the start cause i was running to the bathroom. oh and going back to the 12:00 set, SPICE!! I loved it!! I usually hate the slower stuff, but the good vocal tracks i just LOVE, and you played alot of them! Spice was my surprise of the night, nice work! Euphoric and marty, I've never heard either of them, too oldschool for me i guess,. I sat down about half way through euphorics set, because i was just damn tired, was a good set though. And then, marty spinned, I wasn't into it much. Then D-minus closed off the night with one fuck of a set. It was 5am and I was tired as hell but i was singing as loud as I could!! Shoutouts to: Weava: Thanks for the medal, it made me feel like a winner! Rio: I call you rio cause your alais is too long, you're a fucking maniac on the floor! John!! I forget if its John or jon, anywyas, its always a pleasure seeing you!! Sara I really enjoy your company! You helped me stave off sleep for awhile. Mallory?? I know you were with sara that night, but I'm really sorry cause I forget your name, I told you im bad with names :P. I don't think im that far off atleast, but ANYWAYS, thanks for keeping me company as well! You were really nice and it was good to meet you! Premeet people there were so many, some of you I didn't even get to talk to, and others I didn't get the names of! But thank your for being that extra special thing of the night! Thats it for now!!

It was a fun night.... Got there to Silver1 spinning some wicked choons, I was like "wtf", I think the guy just killed it,amazing set... Scott Brown was superb, I was having some personal issues, but his set just made me all giddy and bouncy, for that one hour I was in heaven ... I think its unbelivable a dj could have that much power!
Frolic was pretty good , I really wanted to hear "Get Hype" and when he opened up with it it brough a smile to my face thanks... "Heaven Above" was a good addition too. MC ED was really good too, during euphonic set, I was really impressed... It was cool meeting some of you from the board, and thanks for commeting on my shirt... a good hulla, I would say. |

That's cool m8... it's your show, run it your way. I had such an awesome time. Hands down the most energy, the most noise, the most smiles of any crowd I've had the priviledge of playing. NoFrills, Silver1 and Euphonic were all absolute joys to work with on the hardcore tip, and Marty was soooo good as always. Sorry to hear that people weren't digging the MCing to his set. I'll do a detailed review of the whole night when I've had a chance to process it. MCED |

so I got in when they opened.
After nofrills warmed up a bit his set got really good. Another solid 2 hours of dancing until the trance came on. It was alright though, it was good and non-intrusive to chill to. Scott Brown. really good. A lot of the mixing was seamless. A joy to hear. And Rock you softly...made the night right there. AF played a decent set. I found it kind of trancey and not really the energy level I was looking for. (Though it was just my mood...probably as someone said Scott was building and then the change was a shock to the system) I enjoyed Euphonic. I didn't really pay attention to the timeslots or anything so I was expecting more trance as is usual with Hulla. I got a nice surprise. Started getting tired though. He lost me after the 2nd wind down. I was really looking forward to that Discoland breakdown. I think if the breaks were a lot earlier I could've grooved out to it...but no way at 4 in the morning. It took me a bit to get into D-Minus' set but it got going! So many great tunes to sing a long and bounce around to. I was bouncing as I left the venue. And I've got to say...I hate MCs. My perfect party wouldn't have MCs just b/c they might ruin things. But MCED did a great job for most of the night. I was rarely annoyed. I'm adding this one to my list of fondest hulla memories. Its a night to remember.

ha, I started my set at +9. But there's no way to keep up with Scott at the end cause it was into a whole different genre of hardcore, not that our crowd could take 2 hours of that. Scott even learned from earlier Hulla appearances that he couldn't even do 50/50 with gabber in his set, that's why it's limited to ~3 tracks now.
yeah yeah, I know there's 10 of you that would have gone nuts for that but us DJs need to consider the entire crowd . |

Oi! Review time!
Let's see.. Got into Toronto around 7ish.. Met with a couple people inside union - Saw Ryan and his crew. Chip and his peeps showed up. Broke off and nabbed my cab to the opera house (I know you hardcore peoples like to walk it or something, but I just don't know T.O. that well.). Walked to Real Jerk, got my ticket, and headed to the Pizza Pizza premeet. I have to say, you guys. You totally did not disappoint. I'm SO happy I started that thread. EVERYONE showed up. Thank you so so much for coming. That rocked my socks. I stuck around until Shug and her sister showed (which was almost 9, I think), then headed over to the venue. "Why did you bring a book to hulla?" "It's not /for/ hulla, it's for the ride to and from hulla." Took a while getting wound up once I got inside, but No Frills set the mood nicely. I boogied my way (nearly) solidly through Silver1 and Frisky's sets, and went to chill through Spice. However, when I went to get up, I realized I had wrenched my back pretty badly, and dancing suddenly became a very painful experiance. Plus, the shrill screams of the whistles were starting to give me a migrane. I took some pictures (the old fashioned way. I don't even have my Pacific Sun pics developed yet.) And traded some kandi and just generally looked for a place to sit where I wasn't going to get trampled as the floor got packed around 1-2. Around 3 I got back up and went looking for earplugs, and ended up stuffing wadded up napkin bits into my ears. Tried to dance a bit more, nearly cried at the pain, and went to sit again. I bopped in place til about 5 when I got an orange, unchecked my stuff and split. Overall, a good night. Any cheesyness was well appreciated - the goopier, the better. Had to love singing along to Shooting Star and eyeopener. I dance hardest when the anthems are played. Right now, I'm appreciating the warm, dark quiet of my room, however. Hulla is fun, but it's a severe shock to my system. Rock on, Raver friends. .:Kat:. -- This is an honorable mention to the girl in the green wig I met toward the end of the night, who threatened violence if I didn't post about her on the board --
