Border Crossing
I am coming from michigan with a group of my pals, one of them is sixteen and not exactly coming with his parents ... um.. consent.
Anyone know what the rules are for US to Canada border for 16 year olds? |

have to have parental consent...a number to call the parent and the parents IDs photocopied and a signature from the parent

LOL. I'm sure that will go over really well with the border cops when they are serching your car and find a minor stuffed in a suitcase. Try putting some duct tape over his mouth too for added fun.

They could always get a letter noterized< if i spelled that wrong sorry.
But your parent or guardian gotta be there. If the Kid has Id he might get across. Im not sure I remember kids that were 17 going across. Not sure about a letter being writen or whatnot.

I don't know but You would think that you need permission because when your young you need a parent with you to do everything.
Man an 16 you can't even buy a R rated DVD. |

if you are over 16 you can have a note from your parent saying this ADULT *so and so* has permission to take my child *so and so #2* into canada for this period of time..sign their name with a copy of their IDs and a phone number..

If it was me i'd leave the kid at home because you'll all just end up being turned around and hating the kid for life.

did everyone from michigan who claimed they were going to toronto get pulled over into border inspection, or immigration or whatever? Both my friends and I (seperate cars) got thrown in there, and there were also people there who I suspect were hulla participaters already pulled over. It looked like one of them puked, hot car they were driving though, I think they got sent back or something.
About the 16 year old, he had no trouble at all crossing the border - either direction! |

when ever i go to philly with my dad they question like crazy(im 16)
I always get off the hook without a note from my mom (and i dont share my dads last name) although they always suggest that i have it next time.. its more a problem when i go to the states because im a canadian citizen but this is an older person.. i dont know what they would say to a 16 year old with a bunch of people in their 20s or so..
