Ha ha ha ha... swikkid!! I can already do a really smooth transition between to holding stances for freehand... and that's fun. But transition from freehand to poi and back would be so sick it would hurt.

This si going to be awesome for everyone to like... broaden their skillz!

And I fucking LOVE the balcony idea!! I have SHIT memory, though, so someone is going to have to remind me what's going on. I'm going to write about the gathering on myself, so I don't forget that... but incase it rubs or melts off, can someone remind me when/if they see me? Pwease? That's assuming I go... I SO want to go. I HAVE to go!!!

PLUR,

Chip

First
Glow sticking and liquiding are to very different things.... I have the bois to prove it and they would never touch glowsticks.

Second
Art can be judged because how do you think they judge the rythmic gymnastics?
Or Dance restiles?
Or piano resitles?
or art shows?

Yeah, sorry, sometimes I just generalize glowsticking and liquiding under one title. :P

As for the judging, those are not art forms. They're a culmination of different maneuvers, etc. glowsticking is interpretation of the music more than anything. It's easy to judge a piano recital. You're playing a song that's already been written. If you don't play it properly, then you're playing it wrong. You're not glowsticking something that's already been written. For the most part, it's improvised. That's pure beauty. I find there's a huge difference between glowsticking and other art forms. As for art shows, it's completely subjective judging. I don't think subjective judging is fair. :: shrugs :: That's just my oppinion, though. I hate competing. I don't want to compete for who's better at glowsticking. I just want to glowstick with a whole bunch of people.

Art can't be TRUELY judged. Like I said, it's all subjective. Subjective judging and marking is wrong and bad as far as I'm concerned. That's why I refused to take the "creative writing" class for my 12th grade english credit, even though the teachers urged me to. I didn't want some witless twit judging my writing, when I do my writing for myself and for other people to enjoy, not for someone to take it apart and tell me I meant something different than I did, or didn't write what I wrote properly, when I felt it had to be written that specific way for a reason... but yeah, I'm rambling, because I've had about just shy of 15 cups of coffee already thismorning, and I'm just LOADED with energy. ZZzzzzzzzziiiinnng!!! WAAAHOOOOOOOO!!!

So thanks for listening to my rambling, d00ds and d00dettes!!

:: wanders off jittering and twitching, slugging back more coffee ::

haha chip, you're quite a charachter! But seriously, bisquick pancakes own...

also, if we were to have judges we would need alot (I don't really agree with the "subjective" judging chip was going on about either), but another thing is if we DID do that, people know people. So if a judge saw thier friend sticking they would obviously give them a higher mark... well usually. Either way I don't really care, I don't even care if its judged AT ALL! I just wanna see everyone showing off thier talent and having a good time doing it, and that will happen wiether there is judges or not .

Okay... I've hosted these kinda comps before.

The competition should be judged, with a degree of points added for crowd reaction.

A three judge panel should suffice, with people who know dancing well,
but don't have any ties to the dancers themselves.

Anyone can enter in, its just by coming up and showing they want to when the circle is formed. Each dancer gets to dance at least once, keeping it as short as possible, with exceptions for those who feel they can give it one more go if they aren't happy with their first attempt.

Realizing that there are different forms of glowsticking...
after the first round, depending on the turnout, the next round could be split into two catagories... possibly one dominant style, and one for the other styles... it can be figured out at the moment. (One catagory : One winner... Two Catagories : Two winners, with a dance off at the end between the two)
Second round should have 4-6 dancers
Third round should have 2 dancers.
The big part would be the first round...
after that its easy.

I don't know about anyone else,
but it can be hectic to get everything organized right.
I volunteer to Ref or to judge or both.

I think this is a great idea.
All in fun, and certainly memorable.

^^^ I like the idea but it might be a little hard to get going. and as for people jumping in as they please that may not be the best idea. We need some sort of order so we don't have ravers jumping in at the same time making things awkward. I think whoever may be judging needs to dictate the flow of the competion. Maybe even have two judges help do this. Example- one judge determine when the current dancer's turn is over and another tell the next dancer to start. I think we should do eliminations for sure with up to 3 round. sounds like the best way to determine a winner

if we did it around 2 or 3 we wouldn't have to do it in the bar, there should be enough room to host it on the dance floor so that sounds good to me

Even if I wanted you there! The only reason you even came with me in the first place was because you owed me money....do you actually think I did that out of the goodness of my heart? I quite frankly could care less if yo ucame or not....I was just telling you that I had to split....like what would yo uhave done if you didn't get a ride back? I'm sure no one would lend you money....not everyone makes the same stupid mistakes I did...
