Ralph Nader vs The Conservative Party

If I lived in America I'd vote for him, unless Michael Moore was running.

i have to disagree. nader is the reason that bush won the election in the first place. anyone who votes for him is wasting a potentially important vote. no third party ever ever ever has a chance in this country.

Looks like they listened to him... good job Canada
I'm probably voting for Nader... if enough people let go of that silly "if you vote for Nader it's like voting for Bush" theory then maybe Nader would get enough votes to be a serious threat. Besides, Bush and Kerry are prettty much the same thing - I can't vote for that and still have a conscience.

How About A Non-bipartisan system...
Having A real 3rd/4th/5th etc party thats not just an independent running Im sorry America , Im trying to like you but you gotta clean up your government lol ... Not that ours is perfect ... but this vote for one of 2 evil ppl thing just isnt working... maybe Arnold should run for pres... I bet he would have as good a chance as anyone else... It shouldnt be about getting the lesser evil in... it should be about getting someone good in Sorry I didnt read the article either... Though I saw Nader on The Daily Show... If I were American he'd have my vote... Blaming him for stealing votes is ridiculous... it wouldnt matter how many ppl ran if more than 50% of the voting-age population actually voted... Best of Luck In The Elections... you'll need it

The 2 party system is bad...but itll never change. People are just too used to picking one or the other and going with it. And youre right, not nearly enough people care. Unless the average american starts really caring about politics and looking at all the issues (not just comparing dem vs rep like most do), no other party will stand a chance.

It's like this
The two party system exists because of the corporate backing on both sides If either party lost their huge, huge, huge corporate support, they would die But you see, the greens will never get massive corporate support, because of their political philosophy So what we really need to change is the whole structure of party funding itself And that will never change until the whole structure of american capitalism is tilted in favour of the individual, instead of the corporation Which will never happen until the US loses its economic and military-industrial supremacy.

Nader should drop out so the lesser of th 2 evil win( John Kerry)...
And China will NEVER become a superpower bc they already reached that level under Ghan, there is no such thing as a repeat, new powers are created( as it was with the case with the US when Europe was nearly destoryed in WWII) ... The US is probably the last super power and its destruction will= WIII...... |

Its a question of whether they take everyone else down with them that concerns me. I think the next superpowers will be huge multinationals that are already more powerful and richer than many countries throughout the world. In the future we won't live in Canada, US, China or any other country. We will live in NikeTown or The Peoples Republic of Walmart... So back to the original thread question I suppose it doesnt matter who you vote for cuz in the end we'll all lose |

Well, Seeing as the person who said Arnold should run for president obviously knows NOTHING about American politics, I'll disregard what you ahve to say abotu elections. Arnold coudl never do that, seeing as he wasn't born in the U.S, he wou;dn't have as good a chance as anybody, because he couldn't get his name on teh ballot.
Second, Nader didn't cost Gore teh election. I am very sorry Gore didn't win, because I have nightmares abotu Bush being re-elected, however-- Florida was built into a much larger thing than it shoudl have been. IF Gore woudl have simply won his HOME state, possible the easiest state to win in an election, Florida wouldnt; have been an issue, I blame Gore for him losing, not Nader, the most honest, least hypocritical poloitician I can think of. Lastly, I hate 2-party systems for this exact reason. Thanks for hearing my rant. ^^ |

The republican party has given campaign contributions to Nader to run for president. Please don't be a dumb ass. If you live in a swing state then don't vote for Nader. Kerry is a smeg head but he's a heck of a lot better than Bush. Vote for Nader and Bush wins. It's as simple as that.
The Bush family has made their fortune in oil. Dirty, dirty oil. And now we are in the midst of a holy crusade against so called evil people with oil. (Thing that make you go hmm). Kerry, on the other hand, made his fortune when he married his billionaire wife who inherited her cash from the family's Ketchup business. And I don't think the US will be launching any preemptive strikes against tomato farmers.

While I completely agree with you in your second paragraph, I disagree with the first.
I don't see how voting for Nader decides Bush winning. I don't feel like re-phrasing my last post, but it basically says that in there, I'm too tired now. |

The problem is that Bush and Kerry are very close in the polls and the vast majority of people that would vote for Nader would otherwise vote for Kerry not Bush. (If you went to McDonalds to buy a large fry, but they were out of large fries you would opt to buy a medium not a small). So if say Bush has 49% of the vote and Kerry has 51% then Kerry wins. But if Nader runs and 3% of the voters who would have voted for Kerry vote for Nader then Bush would have 49% of the vote, Kerry would have 48% and Nader would have 3%. Now Bush wins.

That's why I think Bush won't win, there are too many peolpe who are going to vote who usually don't, JUST to see Bush not win. They aren't voting for Kerry, as much as voting for NOT Bush.

I know. Isn't it sad. The whole reason why Kerry won in the primaries is that people in the Democratic party felt he had the best chance to beat Bush. But that's politics for ya. When it was clear that Kerry was going to win the primaries I voted for Dennis Kucinich just to show support.
I just really can't wait for the election to be over. I hate politics, but I always get sucked into them. I'm thinking of having an election night party. Get some friends together after voting and drink beer as the results come in. If Kerry wins we can drink in celebration. If Bush wins we can drink until we forget who's president. |
