Opera House?
Just curious if you're still using the Opera House for this party.
I just recall a while back you said you didn't want to throw any Funtopia parties unless if it was at a multi-room venue? Did you change your mind, or new venue? |

Hullas are only 'perfect' at Opera House if it was anything like Sail Away attendance-wise.. rather than any recent previous Hulla.. Sail Away was perfect... lots of dancing room... and minimal overpacking of people.

This wasn't an anti Opera House thread.
So don't turn it into one. I merely asked a question based on something I read years back. |

Your answer is in the words I wrote on the main Hulla page.

I dunno... i just liked them, they were all so nice to me... but security seems to be nice to me for some reason, like at the sky dome and airports, I dunno maybe i look trustworthy or something lmao.

Of all the (legal and safe) venues I've been to, security at the Opera House is among the best because for the most part they do their job well without putting a damper on the atmosphere. Yes, everyone has an undeserved run-in with security now and then... but overall they are friendly and helpful, which is more than you can say for those at a lot of other venues.

i don't know what you guys are complaining about. security was not that bad for hulla. if you ever go to an event here or most anywhere in the U.S. i'm supposing.... they will almost get to the point of cavity searches. i don't need none of that crap. my dentist takes care of my cavities.

The main reason I like the opera house is the traction. I dance kinda' off-balance, and it works better if the floors' not slippery (except for the stairways - but I don't usually dance in the stairways). Also, the security hasn't bothered me yet, but the whole tall guy looking over the stalls of the womens bathroom thing is kinda creepy. I don't even mind dumping out my shoes, except if it slows the line down in winter...
What I would like to see is to have something done to the upstairs room behind the bar. That room begs to be decorated, heck, I'll do it if its a money issue. That and I really didn't like being blinded between sets at Sail Away with those white spot lights on the crowd (but I did like knowing when the DJs were changing so... maybe they could strobe the spots?!?) Note: This post is 100% suggestion, 0% critisism (sp?).

The best security is at icantstopraving.
I don't mind the opera house security aside from that older lady. |

3 of my all-time best securities I've noticed would have to be in this descending order... 3) Opera House, 2) Sound Emporium, 1) Industry Nightclub (back when it was still around)

well, the person who was following me around after removing the glasses was that weird lady, she seems to keep a close eye on me at all times for some reason.... but generally i don't mind the security, they are only doing there job and they seem to keep the parties safe without ruining the mood that huge guy is pretty cool too

That "older lady" you might be referring to could happen to be "Athena", the owner of Opera House...but I wouldn't know.. never met "Athena" in person... I've noticed her several times.. occasionally she keeps a watch on me.. maybe she likes me? I dunno why else she would.. I don't "deal drugs"...

I like the opera house because you can go upstairs and get wicked pics of everyone. The opera house is also the first venue I was at, many moons ago.

Those stairs need repairs pretty badly. Widening the ones to the bathrooms would be great too but probably way too expensive to be feasible. Simple repairs though shouldn't be very expensive or take a great deal of time.
