Sail Away Forum - Most Replies Ever
Just thought I'd let everyone know that Sail Away has now taken 1st place for the most replied to "party" thread. It has surpassed the Enchanted forum which had 2,620 replies.
I believe this could be in part of how awesome this party was & all the hype before it, but MOSTLY because of the new changes in the Hulla board. With all these changes done by Frolic, it is now MUCH easier to navigate and post without having to wait forever for the pages to refresh. I can only imagine the damage we'll all do for the 7 year party *cheers to Frolic for making this site worth spending all day on* haha *now get out of here and continue what you were doing* Last edited by TrYpPy : April 23rd, 2004 at 01:15 AM. |

how does frolic decide when to shut down a party thread? is there a time limit, or do the posts just become monotonous and it becomes time to move on? is there some theorem or algorithm he follows, or is he sitting around one day and decides "and done!"? i wonder what it's like to play god on the hullaboards

Frolic pondering the life of a party forum... "hmmmm well then lets let X represent the number of posts per day and Y represent the level of interest and...." I'm sure he can narrow it down to the exact second a forum should be moved... ...maybe...

While I do think Sail Away probably set a record for most posts, a lot of those older forums have been pruned of the fluff.
I'll usually close down a party forum a few weeks to a month after the event, after the next party forum has been opened and usually all action is happening there. |

yeah I am on it a lot more... it's too bad I cant upload pix... everytime I hit to upload my picture it looks as though it is uploading and then the page goes blank. Tryppy can upload pix with no problem using the same computer... Oh well... Back to the efficiency of the new board.. i hated waiting around after posting... it is sooooo much faster now, almost instant. Anyways it's great thanks for the update!

I've never had any problems uploading my pics.... I choose which file to upload.. it uploads.. sends me to the description page.. I type in my description for it.. and onto the next pic to upload... NEVER got any blank pages... I've only heard about that from Denise and Chris (2cb).. but no one else...
The only problem I got is avatars... I wanna change my avatar dammit... it says the avatar can't be bigger than 8,000 bytes... or 80x80.. whichever is smaller... but any picture I resize to 80x80... using the lowest quality... the smallest I can get the file is 9500 bytes |

^^ yea it's wierd. Blank page after you click upload. I thought it had something to do with cookies or something cause we have two logins with WinXP.. her user and mine. I can upload find on my side but she can't. So I decided to log in as her on my side and got that blank page. It's for sure something with her Hulla profile. Dunno what it could be and I sent Frolic an email. he thought it was the file size of the pix. Nah it wasn't. I tried a small normal pic file.
Strange I tell you. |
