Excuse me? How am I overreacting? I have never made a cancer or aids joke in my life nor have I never laughed at one. Why would you make that assumption about a person you've never met before? |

^^^ I'm sorry if that came off too strong. It was a general comment, not directed towards you.
No hard feelings? Kelly

there have only been 11 deaths i believe RELATED to SARS.. and it's mainly in older (usually seniors) people... there is a lot more than 22 people infected with SARS

Found this, food for thought:

Just to put things in perspective. If you're not afraid of leaving your house for fear of catching the flu, then you certainly shouldn't be afraid of sars. |

^^^^ I am so glad you are fully informed of this information, Frolic. I had worried (silly, I know) that you might get caught up in the SARS frenzy and postpone/cancel Get Hype. Sorry for underestimating you like that. I shoulda known better.

The only reason I would cancel would be if the outbreak was out of control and there was a real risk to our patrons. Obviously this is not the case, so we're moving right along.
Ticket sales are on track, lots of Americans as usual buying them, so it looks like not many people are choosing to let fear rule their lives, fortunately. We have a great track record with April parties (Group Hug 1&2, Foreverland & Meltdown will all be remembered as some of the best events we've ever had) so I'm looking forward to next weekend. |

I have to admit I was a little sketched out about that SARS epidemic at first, but now it totally sounds like they got it under control. I was still gonna go unless the airlines cancelled flights into Toronto.

My mom actually called me today at work to discuss the SARS thing... I told her almost exactly what you just said Frolic and she relented... she's still a little nervous but she's become quite the happy Raver mom (thanks to seeing Brain Basher for a couple minutes ), she even did a project at school on the rave community (she got a 100!)

My mom didn't say a thing about SARS. She's just upset that I'm going to "One of those Rave things". I'm 26, I'm been going to Raves for about 5 years and to techno clubs for about 8 years. I'm thankful that she worries, but I wish she could get over it and accept it. Oh well....
