If you're coming from pittsburgh, peace bridge is usually ok I'd say, cuz its south of the others and just the first crossing. There are lots of lanes open, and you can bypass most of a line by going through duty free. It doesn't make the trip longer to cross there, possibly a bit shorter because you can drive faster on the QEW than through buffalo. If you lived east, I'd google directions to the rainbow bridge, or at least home from it. The longest wait i've had there was just over an hour, whereas that day the Q-L had a 2.5hr wait posted. Going into canada is usually not too awful, its getting home that can take forever.

We always go peace bridge. We've seldom had any trouble crossing. The've only looked through our cars once I believe, coming back from wemf. But even that was just on the spot, open up your trunks and stuff, they found hot dogs. It was funny. DONT TRY AND BRING MEAT OVER THE BORDER!
My wife was stopped and asked to pull over once and got searched a long while back and they detained her and a friend for like six hours. Keep in mind that both my wife and her friend were pregnant at the time as well, driving her mother's car. Apparently they thought the car smelled like weed.
Eh well, I'm not too worried, if anything it'll just make a longer delay. I can't wait to be in toronto again.

Yea I'm not worried, we never have anything drug related that would keep us from getting across. We usually have a knife in the trunk or a retractable baton in the car door though. (both of those really happened and no we didn't know either was in the car lol)

So if you were convicted i would be scared! And because of the way American customs treat us I feel Canadians should do the exact same.

i wouldnt expect this crossing the border in the other direction though...

I'm not worried about crossing the border, there's only two things ultimately that can happen, either theylet me cross or they dont. Of course it would suck not to be able to cross and see frolic, but if they dont grant me passage what can I do...absolutely nothing, so theres no sense getting all worked up that will only make matters worse

"The one bit of good news is that a simple marijuana possession conviction probably won't keep an American out of Canada. Under Canadian law, possession of less than an ounce is a summary offense and does not constitute inadmissibility, said Vancouver immigration attorney Gordon Maynard. Don't try to deny any criminal history, Maynard warned. "It is not a good idea to lie. The Ports of Entry have access to the NCIC database and can readily see any history of arrests, charges, court proceedings, convictions and incarceration in the database," he said. "Officers have this information even before they ask the questions. Failure to truthfully answer questions on any relevant matter, including criminality, constitutes misrepresentation and is a separate bar against entry and can include a two-year penalty against any further entry.""
