what was the cost of the last goodfellaz?(UVS) How many were in attendance? I heard it sold out. Isnt this an example that big partys can still be thrown, and that the people will come?

UVS was not a "big" party.

It was a medium size event. We sold out at 650 people. We made UVS on a smaller scale because we thought that we were going up against Destiny again and just wanted to make sure that the people who wanted to go to our party were able to buy advance tickets and have a good New Year.

Unfortunately the rave scene is so small right now. Way smaller then when Frolic made this thread and way smaller than when I wrote my last reply.

Goodfellaz has a big event (1000+ people) in the works right now, but that is not going to hapen unless our smaller events do well.

I believe big events can still be thrown, but they have to be done with caution and with an eclectic line-up.

Hulla was throwing parties for more than 4000 people with budgets of $75 000+ when this thread got started (and selling that out completely in advance), that's a "big" party.

This topic is about 5 years past it's relevance date though, since the scene has changed much since this thread was originally started. Unfortunately my concern that the end of the big parties was upon us proved true. To have gotten to that level took the collective effort of dozens of promoters in Toronto over several years, we'll never see that again.

The thing I've noticed is that people think it HAS to be a big party to be a hit. But some of the best parties I've been to have been smaller ones with local DJs. Parties like Sunny Delite, Where The Fuck Is Waldo!?, Tag! You're It!, Animal House....small parties...with a huge vibe.
