Shotgun is just the program I use to track the downloads of the mixes
that way, we know where they are going for the most part and how many times they are downloaded |

More .CUE file fun
See, you guys said: We split it up for the CD, but the MP3 is all one track.. that is EXACTLY why a downloadable .CUE file is a great idea.. I a .cue file works with nero and cdr-win, and it tells each program where to make the tracks, and what to put into cd-text.. so all you do is open the .CUE file in nero and BANG, you burn the mp3 to cd with ALL the tracks and all the cd-text names burned!
If you need an example .cue file, try www.spandel.nl it is FULL of .cue files. You can simply take one of the .CUE files from there, and EDIT it to fit your mp3's!! its a snap, and all you need is NOTEPAD to do it. If you think this will make a good addition to your site, please give me a private message or an e-mail. Also e-mail me if you have any other questions. I think this would help alot, because as of now, I am stuck guessing where I can split these tracks. LordX PS - The .CUE file would act as your TRACKLIST as well! Kill two birds with one stone!

Mp3 Encoding Quality
Call me a perfectionist, but do you have a mp3 of the CD in a better quality compression? 96Kbps is about as low as you can go.
Anyone here who has the CD who can encode the CD in 196 or 224 kbps? let me know! Ty all! |

Nothing meant badly.......
"I dont know if you have something against us or whatnot, but it sure seems that way. Ever since we put this thread up, you've made comments about .cue files, and now the quality of the mp3 we posted."
My comments about a .CUE file and the quality were simply meant to help those who enjoy your music have life a little easier... the fact that you have free downloads of your work is awesome! And the way you gave out free CD's is even better. Proves your conviction in what you do. I would be happy to make you guys a .CUE file if you would be willing to give me the track times (exactly). I have a CUE file already when I cut it up for the CD.
The CD was done as a special edition to be given out at Hulla B&F ONLY. Releasing an mp3 is just icing, it's not meant to be a CD replica. The compression issue made the audio quality so-so, and thus encoding the mp3 at 96k was to make a smaller download. Bandwidth isn't free. Thanks for your suggestions. Perhaps we'll do something with 'em in the future. Can we relax the thread again? |
