This whole thing makes me feel sick, I'm so glad you guys posted all of this advice. I've never driven across the border, like me physically driving, so I'm kinda nervous. So I'm glad I read this. And thank god I'm charming.

hehe WEMF is the World Electronic Music Festaval, and It's held every year somewhere in northern ontario, and the location changes every year. You make your own thread by in the main pages like "hulla life" at the top there is a "New Thread" button. BUT back to WEMF, Hullabaloo is kinda... umm... un-WEMFy, because of alittle mishap where destiny (the company who runs wemf) didn't pay frolic, and this isn't the only shady thing they have done, but this isn't about that :P.

^^^ well WEMF just happened and usually happens either july or august. WEMF is a huge outdoor festival with over 200 acts usally but like previously mentioned, this is not the place to promote or advertise WEMF. you can find more about WEMF by goin to a webbrowser and putting those 4 letters in
HULLA is a party that happens every couple of months, its superfantabulousy yumtastick!! its at the opera house, theres usually about 350-400 or more people......
its pretty rockin and you are gauranteed to have fun

The only thing I *ever* worry about when crossing the border is: what is in my host's vehicle.

As an "old" man, I've no need for reckless and youthful exuberance when dealing with law enforcement.

Don't let the thread freak you out. I've been to Canada about 12 times. Sometimes I get searched sometimes I get right thru. Just plan some extra time incase you get stopped. As long as you aren't doing anything illegal you don't have much to worry about. Yes, they can give you a hard time and yes they can turn you away, but it doesn't usually happen. Sometimes they can be very friendly too. When you go to a party and get searched at the door you probably don't bat an eye. It's just part of getting into the party. Getting into Canada is the same thing...

that's a very good point. and if they find your kandy and costume in the trunk, well, just say that's the way you dress to go clubbing-they can't accuse you of anything for that! Using the word "club" is more accepted because ppl don't usually associate "club" with "drugs" the way they unfortunately do with raves

Man!!! It is (from my experience anyway) so much easier to be a Canadian travelling to the States than vice versa. I have gone across the border at least once a year for as long as I can remember. I am a nervous person by nature and I am always a passenger, (usually front seat because I like the front seat (except at the border)) and I usually jump in and answer at least one question. I have crossed the border with fruit (which is illegal unless properly packaged) and had no problems. I even took a bus across this year, without the proper id, with a friend with out the proper id, and a backpack which perpetually reeks of weed. I even had a bit of weed in it at the time which I was genuinely unaware of. My backpack got searched, and I have one pocket that I never use for anything because it has purple eyeshaddow exploded in it. I told the border crossing chick that and she opened it anyways and then after realizing I told her the truth she asked me what was in the pocket with the weed in it and I told her "That's where I keep my supply.... For that time of the month" and she didn't open it, and I got through no problem. On the way back I also had a new pipe from Soho in New York, and I didn't have any problems. Even tho I'm always shaky and nervous.

that's an intense story! But you're right you'd think it would be harder getting back into the States usually. when we went to wemf it was actually much easier getting in-I guess the situations vary
