Airport/train station location
Where is the Toronto Airport in relation to the venue. I am taking the train into the Airport. Does anyone know approximately how much a cab ride from the airport to the venue would cost? Is there a subway or something similar? I've only been to Toronto once, and I was very leeetle. Thanks.

Not exactly sure where the airport is in relation to the venue, but I'm sure a cab ride would be mad expensive. I flew into Toronto for LOTR in May and I dropped alot of money that weekend. Now I take the bus.
.. ...damn, that wasn't very helpful...sorry about that

there IS more than one airport in toronto, but i would almost guarentee he's getting to Pearson International..
the airport is technically in Etobicoke... a cab ride would be upwards of $50 CDN most likely.. look into things like a bus from the airport to somewhere downtown.. (ie: Eaton's Center / Nathan Phillips Square / Union Station).. from any of those locations, the Opera House is within walking distance.. (but you'd probably take a street car, as it's much faster, and only $2.50 CDN) what bus are you taking into the airport?

Public transit will get you from the airport to downtown for $2.50, but it's not the most speedy thing in the world. Once you get on the subway though it's smooth sailing.

If ur talking about Pearson International airport, get on the bus that says Kipling station, once at Kipling station there is only ONE subway train go downstars and get on that, get off @ Yonge/ bloor, go upstars and take the subway that is heading toward Queen and get off at queen station, and then enter the Eaton Centre by following the exit sign on ur right when u get off the subway, from there go outside through the queen street exit door( u can use the map that is plastered in all all the exits, if ur not sure which exit), that is Queen st and then head towards queen st E.....

ummm... Did they up the price of the TTC? (I have a metropass so if there was a price change I didn't notice) Last time I paid with change it was $2.25, the same price as it's been the whole time I've been frequenting the city.
Anywhoo, Quote:
At Yonge and Bloor you need to hop on the SOUTHBOUND train to get to Queen street. When you get off that street car go and stand at the south corner of the street at the streetcar stop. If you are directionally impaired, the south side is the side OPPOSITE the mall, it has the HBC (The BAY) store on the corner. You should also make sure to get a transferr when you first get on the TTC. If you walk away from the streetcar stop at Yonge and Queen and try to get on the street car from an alternate stop your transferr will be no good and you'll have to pay again. Living near the Opera house, I don't recommend walking there from Yonge if you can avoid it. Especially if you are going to be dancing all night long. It is not a very short walk.

If you don't have a transferr you will have to pay to get on the streetcar.
I never remember to get transferrs. (I like having a metropass and never having to pay to transferr) |

Meh maybe I'm jaded by having to walk that far at least once a week before getting my metropass. (Stupid transferrs). It is a nice walk at points, but it's not short and it gets monotonous.
Maybe when it's actually a choice it's a better walk. Maybe I'll never know... |
