Hey Huggybear,
I'm glad I'm not the only newbie, here are pieces of advice I've picked up in other threads: -Don't ask people for kandi (beaded bracelets and necklaces) If they give them to you freely that's cool, but a lt of people will be annoyed by you asking because you are missing the point. -Be careful who you kiss or share drinks with, There is something called the "HullaFlu"... -Don't have sex or make out inside the party. (I think this one is covered by common courtesy, but maybe I'm wrong.) The obvious reasons for this are because nobody wants to see that. -Bring a good attitude, no hate or prejudice. Things that I am doing to prepare are excercising, so that I don't burn out after a few songs, drinking a lot of water, to get my body used to being hydrated, making bracelets (I've made four, My signature on them is a leaf at the end where it is tied). I also have been downloading and listening to happy hardcore, hardcore, jungle, trance, and techno music... And trying to decide what to wear. I think I've decided on my army green pants with bright orange ribbons on them, because I think they'd be fun to dance in. Look forward to seeing you there... And everybody else too... |

Somethng else that I have kind of prepared myself for is that the scene might not be as good as it was waaay back when. Through talking to friends who used to be ravers, I found out that a while ago there was bad bommin at the raves, people who didn't get along, different styles and ideas about the rave and ravers or what have you. There was a lot of animosity, and some violence. After that they all gave up on raves, and have no idea how the scene stands today. I am hopeful that it is better and that there won't be any violence at this Hullabaloo Birthday Funtopia 7. The piece of advice that I am keeping in mind tho in regards to all this is 'Don't go looking for trouble and trouble won't find you'.

The worst I've ever seen at Hulla was when you bring drunk people together with ones that are high... because then it's Alcohol vs E (In most cases)... and they are like opposite magnetic charges after consumption.. which is why I try to avoid drunk people when high... conflicts usually erupt...

I'm not too worried about conflicts at hulla... I mentioned it because concerns about it have entered my mind, and it is one thng that I was told to be prepared for when I started mentioning that I'd like to go to a rave. But I'm going witth my protector, and I'm going to have fun and not to go looking for trouble. I'm mostly concerned about dehydration and hypohydration. But I think I'll be ok.
But mostly I'm excited... A lot of the posts on this thread have only added to my excitement. |
