It's Been Confirmed...
On April 17th, Onyx (ex) and myself will be flying out to Toronto from Salt Lake City. We will be arriving in the city around 5 pm. Everything is confirmed completely... both round trip tickets, and tickets for the party have already been purchased.
The following day we will be flying back home around 2 pm. I wasn't to sure that I would have enough money to come out. But then I decided that no matter what... money is not worth the paper it's printed on compared to the smile that I can bring to my ex's face. And hopefully I will have a camera to capture that smile. When money comes and goes... that picture will always be. So... I am thinking of taking her to the CN Tower for Dinner at the Horizon's Cafe. Is it a pretty good place to eat? Also... is the lookout and the glass floor worth paying for? I was also wondering how far away Niagara Falls is? And also... just out of curiousity how Casa Lama is? Is it worth going and checking out? It would be awesome to get some more feedback, and get to know some of you kids a little bit better, so that we can all meet up. Start posting... In 9 days I will be back from Solitude from a computer, and I'll start posting more and respond. Once again... I want this to be the best night of her life. If any of you can help make it possible I will appreciate it greatly. Thank You and Much Love, ~CrEaMy~ Matt |

the CN tower isn't all that great. i was there 2 years ago for dinner, and unless they got a different cook, meh ...
the view is worth it though. that's what you're paying for. |

hehe its "Casa Loma" but Casa Lama would be really damn funny LOL... well the story on it is that I don't remember much of it, I was pretty little when i was there - it seemed cool though but it certainly isn't like a huge draw like the CN tower (the glass floor is cool, go on it). I mean... its not even a real castle, some rich guy just built it cuz he could I think.
If you can't find anything to do besides the Loma and the tower, you can always just walk around Toronto for awhile, i guarentee you'll find some cool/fun stuff to look at or do. Anyways........ sleepy time.

Toronto is unlike just about any large American city in that everything is based around the core and that's where it's heart is. If you stay in a downtown hotel you can probably walk to many different areas of interest.

If you plan on goin up the CN tower don't bother having dinner there. Its not worth the money for crappy food =p, just go up play tourist then find a better restraunt =] Nigara Falls is about an hour away, its worth goin to see if you can get a ride, if your renting a car definatly go for it, its off season so it wont be too busy either
good luck! see you at sail away!

Awesome!! If you don't have a camera.. don't you worry haha. I'll have mine. And there aren't many people out there that take as many pix as me. I topped 250 at the last party I was at. I'm aiming for over 300 this time. So I'll make sure to get you. There should be a thread called "What are you wearing" or whatever.. Make sure to post what you'll be wearing so you and your "ex" are easier to find. Afterwards I'll have a link posted the pix as usual.
Btw.. I'm not sure how far Casa Loma is from where your going to be.. but if it's close enough.. TRUST ME.. it's worth the trip. That place is a sight to see. Also MAKE SURE to check out the CN Tower. It's not expensive to go up. Amamzing view! Hope to see you there! |

well the trip up the CN tower is usually pretty cool i guess if you like heights and whatnot, but don't waste your money at the restaurant. sure its pretty high in the sky and it goes in a circle but other than that its shit. you could very easily find a way more decent restaurant at more affordable prices. as for niagara falls it is about an hour and a half from toronto and is much better at night. there's nothing else to see really in niagara falls so you're pretty much driving 1 1/2 hours to see water fall....i've never been to casa loma so i really don't know about that.
in any case i hope you have a safe trip here and enjoy yourself before the party, because the party will be a blast!!! hope to get to meet you and your g/f!!! see you there!!!!

if you can, stay at the sheridan on queen street. it's close to really cool stuff. i stayed there for one night last year (even though i live a 45 min drive from downtown) and it was sooooo cool waking up in the morning and being able to walk to the eaton center, kensington market ... ANYWHERE!!!!
i say you stay there. go to kensington, really cool vibe ... vintage clothing stores, little cafe's and all the fresh fruit you can eat! (like pineapples )

THEORY
if the restaraunt it shitty, maybe its because of the altitude its at. They say airline food is so bad just because you are at a really high altitude and you tatse different or something, so maybe its the same story for the tower?? |

The food is OK... but it is more expensive than it's worth.
If you want to do a little better, for less money, take her to dinner at Le Paradis Bistro, a great little french restaurant very close to Davenport & Bedford, a little ways from Queens Park. http://www.toronto.com/map?mode=geo...-793999&level=8 for a map. Then take her up the CN tower to do the glass floor and observatory thing, if it's a clear night. If it's not a clear night, take her to Jilly's, the skankiest strip club in the city, which is really close to the Opera House. See you at hulla, innit? MCED |
