Well, I had a ball. Thanks again Chris for throwing down a first class event.
The line was a little long... more security ppl at the door would have been good, cuz it was awfully cold out there. Then again, it's my own fault for getting there at 9:10... duh.
I'm gonna start with my complaints, which are few and minor. There was a lot of bumping and shoving going on from ppl walking around and rushing the stage for giveaways... it just seemed that there were a few peeps who were in a big hurry to get somewhere, and didn't care much for moving BETWEEN people. Secondly, there were a whole lot of MC's at one time- maybe having MC's assigned to specific sets would be a good idea for the future. The sound system itself was awesome, but when any MCing was going on, the speakers seemed to peak, and I couldn't understand a word they were rhyming. My last whiny complaint is MORE ANTHEMS!!! White labels are good, so are remixes, but too many in a row took me from dancing my ass off to standing and doing the head-bob.
On the other hand, the venue wasn't too packed, nobody sat in the middle of the dance floor... The security guys were friendly and quick, the friendship crew was in full effect. I saw a few peeps swapping bracelets, stickers and signing books, which is a good thing in my candy-kid mentality. I was hoping to see more crazy outfits, but the plastic pants chick and the Tony the Tiger guy made up for some of that... props go out to them. I saw all smiling faces, heard my share of "Happy HullabaLOO!"s, heard some great tunes, and enjoyed myself thoroughly.
I promise to not have another 6 month rave drought after this one.
For those who may have met me and not known it was I: I was the dashingly handsome fellow wearing blue phat pants with a block-letter chain, white sleeveless dress shirt, tie, a few bracelets and my faithful old Expos hat, up at the front nearly all night "speaker fucking"
Shouts go out to:
