what!!! what party was storm & herman here......
ok then get Sunrize then.... or how bout throwing in a Gabber set by Dominik....Hulla's rock but im gettin sick of everyone throwing on the same style of hardcore in the sets. I mean common keep some variety. Rotate your dj's. And yes Have Mannik and Saiyan up there. I acually enjoyed the 4:20 party and their sets were bad ass. Id like to hear a fully set of nothing but new KFA, Raw Elements, Phase 4 and Elation Traxx

Sounds like someone should start their own company and throw parties they want to see. This is not a sarcastic comment. We don't pretend to be everything to everybody. Hulla was born out of my frustration over what events were being offered in Toronto at the time and what I wanted to see. To this day I've stayed true to myself and stick to what I want to see in a party and we've had a lot of success with that. |

Hulla use to have Rotterdam (Dominik)
Hulla use to have Breaks (Marty Mcfly & Willar) Hulla use to have house (Brano and others I can't remember) Hulla had a second room Hulla dropped everything but hhc and some trance. Therefore Hulla did not stay true to itself, just to happy hardcore. Not that theres anything wrong with that, But those other genres and Dj's did help bring Hulla where it is today. And the parties were great, better then today. Hulla didn't need to drop any of it. I do like hhc and I still attend Hulla's, but I think saying that Hulla stayed true to itself is garbage. But thats just my opinion, I'm sure nobody else agrees |

DJ UFO?????
I hope DJ UFO is headlining the next hulla but others probabilly don't since they don't like the "Newskool" Hardcore...... But if not DJ UFO i hope DJ Hixxy is headlining sometime soon, it's all about RAVERBABY.

SCOOT: Hullabaloo's primary focus was, and always will be Happy Hardcore. The 2nd room was to offer other styles to the crowd that didn't want to hear only hardcore. To this day, all Hulla's STILL DO offer something other than hardcore to split it up a bit... but since it is only a 1-room event now, there is less room for the other styles.... and since Hulla is staying true to it's roots (hardcore), it is the predominant style of their parties. Hence, those who truly want to be there, go. Those who would go to hear other styles BUT hardcore, have plenty of other parties to go to. Hulla HAS stayed true to it's roots.

exactly, i know many many people who are heading for montreal, so unless you get an awesome headliner like AMAZING (hixxy, sy, forces and styles) i wouldnt think you would get a good attendance as you hope..if you DID get an amazing headliner, i would be very very very very at odds as to what to do, even though i see spree like 25 times a year...so um, just dont do it on the 28th :P haha maybe i should read the whole forum before i post lol, ok bah, what do i do now, when will we know the headliner??

my birthday weekend TOO, that is why i am sooooo cross about the 2 awesome party problem haha i need to complete thoughts before clicking post, I have a brilliant idea, I am sure nothing will come of it but listen up, you should have the hulla on FRIDAY the 27th then you would get A LOT of attendance, lots of out of towners would then have a reason to drive to toronto on friday and keep on going to go to montreal on saturday, *yay* i am smart.. i think anyways prolly wont happen, but it would be by FAR the best weekend ever if it did Carrie Last edited by CareSieB : August 11th, 2002 at 05:56 PM. |

I think that any hulla is a good Hulla, Regardless if it's Friday or Saturday.

Oh.. and for all the doubters..
5 Years ago.. I entered my first ever party. It was Hullabaloo: Love & Magic.. You know what I heard when I walked in? You guessed it.. Happy Hardcore. Take a look at the headliners over the past 5 years.. tell me if you notice a trend. Hulla has ALWAYS been a production company dedicated to HHC. Take a look at the owner of the company.. A HAPPY HARDCORE DJ. I mean really.. it's not rocket science. Hulla used to be 2 room parties.. The main room was, and always will be (I assume) HHC. Deal with it, that's what Hulla is, yo. Besides, It's Chris' shit.. his money.. his time.. HIS PARTY. Enjoy em while they last. |

Regardless of any date the Hulla will succeed, and it will be better if there is more.

Here's a question:
If you were having trouble finding free dates for the Opera House then why didn't you?... anyone wanna finish this sentence... ok I will Find a better venue? The Opera House isnt a terrible venue but this is gonna be 7 hullas in a row at the same venue!!! People enjoy diversity both in the venue and in the music. The same DJ's everysingle time gets repetative, they may be good DJ's but they are not the only ones out there. ~Jesse~

There's nowhere else to go. I've looked at the "alternates" that are available and they're either inferior venues or run by morons whom I refuse to deal with. I'm also out of the venue-finding business so unless another promoter is able to secure a good safe legal venue that meets my needs and has shown that it can be used successfully, I don't see any other options. If I lost Opera House as a venue there would be no more Hullas, that's the situation. If you remember, I had cancelled my larger July party plans completely, and then threw the last-minute Anthems party due to the outcry of people who believe a Hulla at the operahouse is better than none.
I've made some changes to the next lineup. the last couple of parties were similar since one was our anniversary and the other a strictly residents night so the residents were featured prominently with both. |
