*sigh* yet another party at the opera house?
hmmmmm....i might make an apearance, bt i doubt it as im saving money for the party im throwing in barrie. still hunting for a venue but the lineup is looking pretty good, alot of up and comming talent, including some of torontos best known, all for a VERY cheap price, hehe. but ya, ummm, i might make an apearance, but i think 20 bucks may be a TAD expensive for just local talent. id say 15 would be a bit more reasonable....

I'll be there of course...just like every other hulla
couple of things though... don't bitch about the venue...i'm not 100% sure it's gonna be at the Opera House...but if it is...don't complain!!! sure, it's hot and is sometimes too full...but nobody else around here throws events like Chris does, by that i mean QUALITY parties where the majority of ppl. leave happy after EVERY partie...seriously, it's not exactly " cheap " to throw a partie...so if it does get a little too rammed then so be it...if you think of it logically, more ppl. means more hulla's...if he loses out too much money on a partie because he doesn't even come close to breakin even 'er something because he let too few ppl. in then why take that chance and throw another partie??? I dunno...makes sense to me when some parties get a lil overpacked...the promoter kinda needs money to pay for shit y'know! and btw...i'm not trying to suck up or any bullshit like that...i'm simply saying to stop bitching about the venue cause it's " sOOOOOOOO small " or something like that...if he threw a partie at a much bigger venue...that means more dollars for him to pay...which means more money for YOU to pay...and don't go off on some rant about how if he threw a partie at a differant venue and it cost 30 or 35 dollars to go for a " big hulla " you'd pay for it...sure, maybe YOU will...and maybe lots of other ppl. SAY they will...but what happens when he plans another big hulla and not everyone who SAID they'd pay more money if it was a big hulla don't pay??? he'd be out a SHITLOAD of cash OR the partie would just be cancelled altogether...which i'm sure wouldn't make the ppl. who DID pay too happy... personally i'm happy about this partie and have been lookin forward to it since i found out about it like 10 minutes after it was posted about. I'm curious to see what he's gonna be doing for this " special edition " partie... and lastly... GO LOCALS!!! Last edited by Keron_DaFunky1 : June 5th, 2002 at 05:52 AM. |

the opera house will be our home until some other new venue becomes available. I don't know how many times I can say this, but without them, there would be no more hulla period.
Those who complain only ruin it for everyone else as they're the ones responsible for my cancelling of some larger plans. I can guarantee that everyone in attendance will have a great time though. The one thing about returning to a venue is everyone knows what to expect, and we've had great parties there. Not to mention that the Hulla experience is unique to itself. We only throw 4 or 5 parties a year, so if that is boring to you then so be it. Setting ticket price is a very easy equation: Cost of event / estimated attendance = $ticket price. My costs are higher than most, as I have things like liability insurance ($450 per event), and 17% of the ticket price goes to salestax, which most promoters don't pay. Not to mention most promoters lose money and never throw another party, and that doesn't help anybody. |

to me,the opera house isn't bad at all ... the venue is a small factor when it comes to deciding if im goin to a party, ecspecially one like hulla.......it wouldn't matter where the party was, if it is all the wonderful things that hulla has shown me in the past two parties, then you could hold it anywhere and im sure it would be just as good.........personally i think the opera house is perfect......yeah it might get sweltering, but its not that bad, think about it......you can't help but share a good time with everyone

I don't mind the Opera house, if you think about it, it's not that bad! I wish I could go to a large hulla once, but if I were Anabolic, I wouldn't want the risk.

1)first, i dont understand how a bunch of kids on a message board are responsible for your big plans being cancelled? did they break into your house and steal all the blue prints for it? 2)cost of event+profit to be had/estimated attenace= $ticket price
