Although it's all worthy of attention, as I have said before. NOTHING beats the explosion of energy when Frolic, Breeze, Scott Brown, Frisky, Dminus, Silver1, Justrich or anyone spins that anthem track that the whole crowd has been dying to hear all night. Perfect example-WEMF sat night Frolic spinning-See Me Climb (best song of all time?)

^^^That track, in my opinion, does have some of the best lyrics for a 'Happy Vocal' hardcore track....(wise choice thumpdaddy)
but not the best song of all time....

ummm ok like yeah so this poll is not appropriate, i like old skool breakbeat hardcore, that also containts some wonderful little piano medleys with one or two vocal samples, i hate songs with all singing but well jesus, the template, and ultimate happy hardcore song for this of course would be Airhead, or even better yet....Samplemania.
as for vocal tracks that just would be that i guess i would prefer the 3 e's, surrender, reach out, and let the music. mmmm not too much vocals just right so i dont know what that counts as. now if u say vocal ppl will think crap like field of dreams or i dunno. jesus hhc isnt supposed to be all singing. blah. blah. and like on the weekend some lame boring songs were played and ppl were singing along and acting as if it was so great and like i had to try hard to keep myself from falling asleep. i think people are expecting less from their art than they should be. |

Old skool breakbeat hardcore!!!!
Breakbeat Hardcore is my favortie music of all time! (1990-1995)
But I really love the sounds of 91-93 !!!!! Just go out and buy Prodigy - The Experience! But make sure you get the new version, they've now released The Experience with a second bonus CD featuring B-sides and Remixes!!!!!!! Soooo Good!!! Or check out - History of Hardcore Pt. 1 - mixed by Kenny Ken, or - Sub Base Classics - mixed by AK1200. Such good CD's! Oh and when the heck is someone gonna bring back Sy!!!!! My dream of all dreams, DJ Sy playing Oldskool Hardcore, Live !!! It'll happen, one day! I hope! Jeff |

Happy instrumental all the way! Breaks are great also (I wish there was a Instrumental/Breaks category...:rolleyes, especially the early bonkers traxx. The instruments are way more richer I find and display the tru intention of what HHC is supposed to be...Super-Catchy-Cheesy-Yummyness!
I don't know about you guys but I find the vocal traxx get kinda annoying after a while. Especially when the content of the lyrics are always about,"Oh I love you and I can't believe it. Oh my God...Baby, baby we can do anything"-BLAH!...it takes me back to the radio days of pre-teen pop and it worst of all it drowns out the wicked vibes/emotions that the artist is trying to let you feel. Don't get me wrong, lyrics are'nt that bad, and there are some great vocal traxx that I jam out to but I'd rather hear lyrics about pure fist pumpin'!!! Heh Anyhow I appreciate well thought out instrumental content, effects, breakdowns, hyped out vocal samples and most importantly-Bouncin' Beats all the way. Like these dominating quality traxx for example: Devastate - Analogue Stomp Scott Brown - Now is the Time 2001 Interstate - From the Underground Interstate-Lost Generation Scott Brown-Enlightened Hixxy & Sharkey-Toytown Remix Ham-Life (Robbie Long & Devastate 2000 Update) and Origian Da Edge-Wizardry Rapido-Ultra Violet Scott Brown-Elysium & Return to Elysium Rapido-Inside Beat (DJ Fade Remix) Ham & Dna-About U Sy & Unknown-Listen to the Ace Sy & Unknown-Cape Fear(remix) ... A y2k2 remix would be sick! Many more greats that get me goin...but I'm too lazy to type. Anyhow now that I got that off my chest, I'm jonesin' to listen to some tunes. Ciao! |

In Hardcore, it's all about the speed and the power. When a song has that THUMP THUMP THUMP THUMP at insane speed, the loops going too fast to catch, all around you like a river under that massive beat. The walls are shaking, you can feel the beats under your feet and in the air around you, the other dancers are freaking out, everything is moving, it's all smiles and giddy laughter. THUMP THUMP THUMP it gets too heavy to keep on dancing and you just close your eyes and put your hands in the air and let that sound run through you, and you're free.
Nothing outside of that party matters right then- you're in a safe place, a beautiful place full of beautiful happy people and wonderful vibes. That's when you can fly. If a song is like that, I dig it Charmer

i agree with d-trik....HHC Vocal is kinda annoying. Its only good if a) the vocalist knows how to sing (good voice) b) she doesn't drown out the instruments. Perfect example of good vocalist is Blumchen (end of story)... Most of the UK vocalists kinda don't have the voice to go with instruments. Kinda like Britney Spears style. Songs about humpin her a#$ and in a complaining voice. Nelly Furtado as well can't sing worth a damn...Either. Electronic music not just happy hardcore is all about instruments....Say it with me now INSTRUMENTS!!! I like tracks for instrumental bliss. Singing in my opinion comercializes a track. Personally i think when an artist makes a track where who emphasis is on the vocals, the artist is either a) lazy to flex instrumental muscle and come up with original melodies and breaks b) just plain sucks and should be a pop artist not an HHC artist. Look what happened to Trance and thats all i got to say on that one. Or even worse is House. And at least House better vocalists and better words. Trance was good without the vocals back in day like 90-95 etc. But besides the point. Look at Sharkey as far as ive heard he's probably for as long as he's been on scene has always stayed on the edge for hardcore producing. Thats why he's the best PERIOD. From what I heard the UK back about 2 years ago vocal tracks were frowned upon cuz they were sick of them and thats what started all the mixing of old school and new school styles thats just coming into prime now.
Some vocals are ok like About U. But don't overdominate the song with vocals..... If i want to listen vocals...i listen to euro!!! |

HHC -=vocals=-
=========== Nothing beats dancing your heart out on the floor while mouthing every word to the song. It's nice when you can sing along. Kinda lets you know that you've been around the scene/music for a while. |

happy hardcore with good instrumentals or vocals. Both can be amazing and uplifting. Good vibes are spread fast with happy hardcore. Everyone smiles and has a good time.
