"This sounds like a party not to miss! - I have recently checked in on several drum'n'bass parties and house parties, however, I have not yet taken the opportunity to attend either a hardcore or trance event. Not that I am not interested in these genres of music just there are so many events going on it is difficult to include all in my schedule.
This being a smaller event sounds as if though it will give many people a chance to interact with others and unite for future parties to come. Sometimes having smaller parties are better for meeting people as in this case. Then rebounding with a mega party for those of all ages who enjoy the traditional hardcore big venues. I have read the article Anabolic Frolic had written and it is unfortunate there is not much of a selection in hosting of a larger scaled party. However with the supporters willingness of continuous support I am almost certain something can be arranged in the sense of reviving the underground scene. I have noticed each event had become more commercialized with the media and it has deteriated the interest of some supporters that created this scene. I believe advertising should be more discreet using word-of-mouth for particular events. Keeping things on the down-low is what "underground" stands for. The people that are in this for the wrong reasons are attending for the drugs. The music and meeting peeps is what you should be purchasing your tickets for. The underground will uprise take my work for it!" peace |

I agree with Jay KERR "The underground will uprise" allthough u have to find the promotors that r in it for the right reason's aswell, not just the partiers.
Most promotor's r in it for the cash (but who blames them) theres alot of money to be made in this bizzness and YES to some it is a bizzness, NO longer to partiers congragate for the muzik and friends but the drugs and the XTC trips and what have you. Question??? Is the wide spred commercialization of partys the birth, or death of it all???? just something to think about! peace. |

Im glad the opera house makes people check their bags. I HATE tripping over people's shit when im trying to dance. Bags just clutter the place...and people always end up using them as pillows when they are all sketched out across the floor. Besides is it REALLY neccessary to bring a bag? All you really need is your ticket..and maybe a jacket which can easily get checked.

hey i just have a quick question - when i went to the last hullabaloo at the opera house the weekend of idance, i had to have my bag searched, but then they made me check it anyway. this sucked because then i had to load up my pockets with my suckers, camera and all that stuff. i'm just wondering if i'm going to be forced to check my bag again. there were tons of people walking around with bags last time, but i had to pay everytime i wanted to get something out of my bag. i'm bringing a smaller bag this time, but i want to know if i should just not bring it at all if they're gonna take it away from me. i always bring lots of stuff with me so my bag comes in very handy. please please please let me know.
peace, jenny

ALL door tickets are $30. I want to encourage people to make the effort to get them in advance if possible.

oh sorry.. the DVP is the don vally parkway. I wouldnt bother with the subway coz thats not going to get you all that close.
If you get a cab and ask for the opera house, then that shouldnt be a problem Last edited by limey : November 8th, 2001 at 03:26 AM. |
