Blueshift, August 6-8 2004.
I had never even heard of happy hardcore, and didn't listen to any sort of trance/techno/anything.. I was at a friend's bday party in July, asked a few other friends what their plans were for the rest of the summer, they said "we're going to a rave in Wisconsin!" and I drunkenly babbled on about how I had always wanted to go to one... so they took me with. Spree absolutely blew me away, and I jumped into the scene headfirst and haven't looked back! And I've never been happier. |

my first party was called Pegasus it was Dec 1999. It was thrown by Roofless Productions in Colorado. The party was about 5 hours from my house in a HUGE barn in a town called Limon.
the djs were: Dave Ralph Deep Sky and others. I was totally amazed how many people would actually drive all that way to see some DJs. But it made sense immediatly. there were over 800 people in that barn and i loved it... so i have been doing it ever since... the longest distance ever traveled for me: From Denver to Greece (i have family there) and it was "convinient" that Love Parade was going on. I only have one tatoo. It is the Lion Rampant (Gatecrasher) symbol. I was thinking of something that had changed my life... its kinda of cheesy but techno did. Not really the music per-say but the scene connected with it. I used to be a brat and just a bad kid in general... after i started to go to raves and the whole P.L.U.R. thing i became a much better, less selfish, person. So i used the Gatecrasher lion to represent my change from ass hole punk teenager to who i am today.

you wanna get kicked in the ass try doing this for about 2 months straight:
Wed: School, work, Club Pure, after party... go home shower and go to school, Thurs, " " , Tracks 2000 (back then DJ Irene was a resident of the club) " " Fri: School work Rave Sat: still up from raving... maybe sleep a little Rave again that night. Sun: go to Denny's early in the morning to watch the old people, you know the ones on their way to church... they would stare and talk about us... and i thought it was funny... immagine it *8 kids covered in candy and really bright clothing in a booth next to 4 old people dressed nicely. I loved it. basically i would only get 45 min of sleep a day. (spanish class) the only days of rest i had were tue and wed. |

my first ever party was a reform party. It was small and it was a jungle party at the comfort zone, but it was still the best thing ive ever seen. I was also still kind of getting used to something like that. I was also 14 years old.

First party in 1997. A local DIY Called "Trail Mix" that turned out to be pretty packed. Also had my first dose of Jungle at this same party.
Thinking about it makes me smile every time. Nothing will ever top that first one, no matter how many more massive parties I've been to since. evangelos_qq... good to see another Coloradoan. ;D |
