I totally agree that it was stupid for people to do drugs at the rally and to carry around signs about legalizing drugs. That totally goes against exactly what we were there to protest. But I guess I just find it funny that everyone is so hypocritical. Everyone is saying how we should go sober to this rally and prove we can party without drugs when like 85% of people you see at parties are high. WHy don't peple stop doing drugs AT parties...as well as just the rallies to support them? plur love starlette |

rainbow,
if we lived in a perfect world, your post would have had some relevance there iz NO WAY you can get people to stop doing drugs at parties and make the "scene" clean raves and drugs go hand in hand, almost like raves and music you can't just say, "lets get rid of the drugs" it wont work G-ZUS 20489182 |

stealing cars is auto theft
i don't know why you had to say that sean public intoxication!? how can u be charged with public intoxication when your on private property? (say in your house, or in a club) before an officer pulls you over in your car, and you decide to destroy your narcodicts before search by eating it.. than it is destroyed and nothing can be done it is impossible to catch someone in the act of "eating" (which is "doing") an e, than arresting them before person swallows the evidence to charge with possession... nooooo thank u for your time! |

cause of your radical brain storming i've came up with other possibilites that "e" is an actual person, and "doing" is slang term for sex... so having sex with person named "e" isn't a crime (which really isn't) o.O |

My 2 cents:
mdma is not legal and holding up a sign saying that it is not a crime to do it is shear ludicrousy. The media was waiting for us to screw up somewhere, and someone did a good job of that. That kind of bullshit is devastating to the scene, but then again, so is saffron. |

with the public intoxication thing i wus talking based on the fact that it was all about getting raves on city property legalized, no? so therefore, you are on public property, and therefore you are in public, and intoxicated.....they can arrest you without testing your blood, as long as they have reasonable doubt so, therefore, doing e(at parties, on city property) is illegal.....and in clubs which are patrolled by cops anywhere that the police patrol, is within their jurisdiction thank YOU for YOUR time G-ZUS 20489182 |

You can't be charged with public intoxication in a club. Just because the police are allowed inside doesn't mean the club instantly becomes a public place. If a police officer knocks on your door at home, and you answer it drunk, he's not going to lay charges. --------------- AdRiaN |

since when do a club and my house have anything in common?
being drunk/high in my house, not chargeable otehr than posession being overly intoxicated in a club/bar you can be arrested, usually you will just be removed to the street and then dealt with eaither way, doing e is illegal because to do it you have to posess it at some point G-ZUS 20489182 |

First of all, your home and a club have everything in common when it comes to public intoxication because they are both PRIVATE property. You cannot be arrested by the police in a club or your home for being too drunk. Period. If you get thrown out and decide to wander the streets, then you can be arrested, but that's it. Second ... "possessing it at some point" is not a basis for laying charges. The police need evidence. If the drugs are in your stomach or your bloodstream, that's not enough evidence (see earlier message). Unless you live in Scandinavia of course. ----------- AdRiaN |

Hypocrites hypocrites hypocites!!!!!!
How MANY of us have raved about the wonders of ecstasy? How many of us take it at parties? So don't sit around, taking back all what you've said to make the scene seem like it's about ALL the music and dancing. Drugs will always be there, and the love for them will always be present. You all think the scenes gonna change now? people will still take drugs???!! Come on! It's a never ending cycle. |

Uh..... because maybe the sign those people were holding was defending ecstacy and everyone here is saying they deserve a beating.
I agree, the sign was not appropriate for the occasion but they are representing themselves, members of the rave scene. The TRUTH!! They do exist, bad or good. G-ZuZ your the one saying everyone should not be puting on acts!! YOu know I got one word for you buddy Chill! SAM |

G-Zus: Doing E isnt a crime. Selling or having it on your person is. Yes- they were being idiots for having that sign, but there was truth in it- even though it wasnt the kind of message I think was right for this Rally. If your intoxicated in public there isnt much a cop can do but test you- they cant really arest you for being intoxicated unless they feel you are a danger to yourself or others. Besides that, they'll tell you to go home or drive you home.
I dont know your background at all, but are you going from what people tell you, from an educated point of view or do you just asume what should be right in your own mind. Its hard to tell sometimes. You are intitled to your own opinions fine, but you just seem to enjoy badgering every post and everyone's veiws. If you say "everyone's entitled to their own opinions" cant you explore those possible ideas for a moment? Just a though- It will make you see things a bit diffrently like you like to do so often. |

Someone once again please explain to me how "DOING" drugs (i.e. E) is NOT a crime when possessing it is?
I refuse to believe this and Adrian where exactly are you getting your facts? It MUST be illegal, that's just common sense. Ingesting an illegal substance must be a crime of some sort. Does anyone take law??? |

If you've already taken the drugs, you can't get arrested just 'cos you're high, unless you're also being a public nuisance. However, if you're caught in the act of consuming said illegal chemicals that's a different story.
