Brent and I started making candie Friday. We want to make sure we have enough to last us so we will be making candie all the way up to the party. I'm going to try and make special candie for all my new Hulla Board friends cause you guys have been so nice and awesome in welcoming us noobs.

I'll definitely be making you something special! It sounds like you could use some kandy luv I'm glad there are still people here who like to trade.

I'm planning on making stuff on and off for the next couple months so I have at least 100 to trade.. though from the sounds of it I will probably need more.

What do you expect from someone when trading kandi? how much effort do you hope to see..

I've been making kandi for about a week now and I look at some of the stuff I made and I'm just not happy with it. I wish I could make tons of cuffies and multi strand peices but I don't wanna use up all my string yet.. [I cant go buy more supplies for alittle bit.. I've spend so much already] I make alot of singles but I always put some kind of charm or special beads on each one so it's got alittle more to it.

kandi is a happy thought. as long as it's pretty, no matter how simple, i am happy. heck making those cuffs is time consuming. single strand kandi is okay in my book!

You can almost always tell how much effort someone puts into a kandi. Throwing together random beads on a string is easy, but if you put thought and love into it, it shows. That's all I look for. Even when a piece I make is more time consuming than something someone trades me, if they have a simpler, interesting pattern, its all cool with me. Hell, even when someone realllly wants something fancy (unless they're pushy), I feel honored they like it that much and trade em. Hehe of course I DO save the stuff that takes me a couple of hours to make for something similiar. Unless I like the person a whole lot. But then I like a whole lotta people a whole lot....

I'm hittin Kandi Trade up right now, but when I get a lull from that and from PlurrySkittles kandi, I'm gonna sneak in like a ninja and trade some of you unsuspecting folk

exactly. I'll put way too much time and effort into kandi and especialy for certian people. I'll make something really over the top.. but for "Standard" kandi trading [haha that sounds soo funny to say out loud!] I just try to make fun interesting, yet much simplier pieces

Well, ya see, I dont know if there is such a thing as too much time and effort into a kandi (uhm unless you stop eating for a few days to finish one) as long as the recepient appreciates it and loves ya for it

When you get some more string, etc we should trade a few pieces.

Honestly, for me, it's the thought that counts. Almost all of my favorites of my entire collection are singles:



The whistle was on one of the first kandi I ever recieved, which tragically broke at an outdoor party, and I couldn't find the whistle. My friend found it and re-made it on the necklace you see. The rainbow one that looks like it says rav3 on it is my geek candy lol.. the white bead beside it says love in silver. The pink, black and white one is simple, but it has a lot of history. A 37 year old woman gave it to me at a new year's party.. it was a kandi she received at a California party in like 1990. She was so happy to see the scene was still alive and well. The 3 in the center I just like because they glow like mad, and use a variety of different shaped plastic beads. The one with the 3 stars is probably my most "complicated" favorite.. because it was given to me at a time I thought I'd never go to a party again.. and not only that, it has my favorite shape (stars!!) and my favorite colors, blue and orange.

So honestly, as long as people put their heart into it, I'm happy whatever I receive! I will be making some really special ones, but for the most part I will be making a lot of singles because it's easier to carry a ton of those.

This isn't really kandi related, but are you guys planning on bringing along a PLUR book or similar? I'm thinking about it. It kinda gets made fun of here, but I really want as many memories of this weekend as possible

I have a party book but I've never used it =-X it's too big to fit in any of my bags. I was thinking about making a small one that would fit cause this is a special occasion ^_^

I want it more for myself that for other people to sign. I want to have it with me to write certian things down as the happen. We're gonna be in the cirty from Thurs-Mon so lots will happen and I don't want to forget anything!

Yeah I'm planning on making a little journal of both the party weekend and the next 2 weeks when I'll be travelling around. I'm still debating having one for people to sign though.

The star bracelet is a lot cuter in person than in my crappy photo. I'm obsessed w/ stars!
