The last time I went to walmart buying beads.. I had a girl who was about college age wait on me and she said "Going to a rave huh?" :P

haha. when i go buy beads i normally end up spending $30 at least. and then the ladies look at me (somehow i always get a lady in their mid 40's) and they aren't sure what i'm doing. so they normally ask what i do and when i say make bracelets they then ask if i sell them. when i say i trade them they stare at me funny... i just smile and let them think what they want.

It is even better if you are wearing a ton of kandi when you go to buy beads. Some of the questions that people have asked me are priceless.

diane, i don't do that either the trading of candy someone else gave me (UNLESS of course they really wanted to trade and it was one that i had for a while that i got a lot of wear out of that wasn't necessarily my favorite or something
i am glad i get to do this one more time

Oh yeah.. I never trade anything someone has giving me.. I even go so far as to keep all "my" kandi on one arm [ie-stuff i love and stuff people have given me] and keep all my trade-able kandi on the other arm so I don't get confused!

I don't trade anything that I have not made either. I keep all my kandi. Every Hulla I have gone to I have traded an awesome piece with someone and it ends up on one of the people from my crew by the end of the night.

We don't trade anything someone has given us either. I don't think anybody else should do it also. Some of the ravers, well I wouldn't really call them ravers, down here don't hold that tradition. At one party we went to I was trading candie with this one kid and I picked out the one I liked to best and come to find out later in the night it had been made by one of my friends. My friend was happy with the outcome though cause I told him I picked the one I liked the best off of that kid's arm so he was excited that I thought his candie was the best one of that kid's stuff. So he said it was better that I had it anyway and then big hug and all was good. YAAY for things working out like that.

Ha ha, I do that too. It's much easier that way, and your arm fills right back up as you keep trading

That is what I do too, but I still only have like 5 on my arm that I keep ones I've been given, even though I've given away tons and tons. But at least that means I can always wear all the ones I've ever been given. |

I used to wear all my give aways on one arm and all the ones i made to give out on the other......I learned for me that its much more awesome to wear all the candy i've gotten on both arms and have the stuff i made on a whistle string and let them pick off that way.

That is an even better idea. I have tried keeping them in my bag before, but then at Return to the Grave a couple years back, this shady girl grabbed two handfuls out when I said she could pick one from it. I was pretty bummed, it was alot of good halloween stuff with bats and witches and such, as well as some other stuff that I made just for that party. So then I went back to wearing it. Keeping it on the string would prevent that though. |

I always thought there was one giving hand and one recieving hand... Just make a ton so you don't get an empty arm <3

I've always put my tradeables on a shoestring, then tied the shoestring to my belt loop.
