there are tons of hotels downtown...I would say that unless you have a car (or even if you do) make sure you get a hotel downtown. We love to drive up and just leave the car at the hotel as we walk around the city (and stumble home at night )

I dunno how good it's going to be, but it is a 3 star hotel. My friend and I are coming in from California, we're booked at the Delta Chelsea in Downtown Toronto. It's supposed to be 2 miles from The Opera House. We booked our flight and hotel together.

It was $451 for the round trip tickets direct to Toronto from Cali and a 2 night hotel stay. It was actually $600 to book the plane tickets alone.

So get on to Priceline and play with the options some!

One trick about priceline people don't know is get your price, then call up the hotel, they will usually give your room cheaper then what priceline would give you as they don't have to pay the commision then. I get all my rooms for like 20 bucks cheaper then pricelines bottom line. WOOT!

once you book your room on priceline you are bound to pay for it no matter what, so i dont know how that would work. They dont just tell you the price

oh they list prices, but NAMING YOUR OWN price is ALWAYS WAY WAY WAY WAY cheaper and you have to offer them a price, they dont show you the bottom price

hostels=15 US dollars a night.

theyre not as nice as a decent hotel, but im broke and the only thing i plan on doing there is sleeping and getting ready and i booked a room with a private bathroom so thats all i need.

its 2.6 km from the opera house...which isnt too far.

just a thought for people trying to keep the prices low.

Well, my friend and I are 18 and 19, so I'm not sure I could get my own room. How many people are cramming others in their hotel? I can take floor.

a word of advice for all you guys getting rooms with groups of people..

make sure over 1/2 of the rooms are allotted for QUIET and sleeping.
nothing is worse than trying to sleep and having people still sketchy and buzzed from the party talking non stop right beside you.
