cherry beach is being closely watched by security. lets meet at woodbine beach... at the foot of woodbine by the BIG cement pool... its nicer than cherry anyways/.

I don't get how it's gone. On Victoria day weekend I drove by at around 8am and there was a crowd of clubbers disgorging from their vehicles to the beach.

i have not been there... however, there are pictures in this thread of cherry beach covered in bulldozers... they are making condos down there and have the whole thing fenced off... from what i was told?! toronto kids.. go investigate... i'll get sparky or teva or someone to do it.... |

They have closed off the section previously used for parties/gatherings. They are building temporary buildings/soccer fields for the upcoming FIFA U20 World Cup (not condos or any other rumours). At the same time, they are addressing the lead contamination in the area by putting in a new soil cap and cutting down affected trees.
There is hope though that CB could still be accessed. Promise, the company that throws the Sunday CB Soundsystem parties, has received a permit from the City to continue throwing parties down there. This means there *must* be an area down there that is accesible/useable. Promise parties start up again next Sunday. I'll try to find out what site they are using and report back here. |

i was there three weeks ago. stopped in my van to nurse my baby..nothing sketchy and was asked to leave by security...
theres a beautiful beach not much further at the foot of woodbine, so close to the queen streetcar... |

you can call the peeps at promise (the cherry beach party production company, as basic informed us) yourselves to find out what's poppin.
david - 416-323-0361 irving - 416-902-1740 these may be out of date numbers, but give a try. i'm not gonna be at the hulla party, but i will be at the cherrybeach after party. in fact, i've never been to a hulla!! i'm rather jealous of all of you, but i wish everyone an emazing time, nonetheless!!! btw, anyone here know what window is? |
