We have managers here at my work who smoke in their offices. They've even travelled down the hall with cigg in hand. Doesnt seem too professional to have your office straight stankin.. with a shit load of butts in the ash-tray. Gross.

it was wonderful that our government told those bars they could install seperate smoking rooms because they weren't going to ban indoor smoking completely. it was even nicer of the government to go back on their word after all those bars and coffee shops spent all that money installing the seperate rooms and seperate ventilation systems. but hey, its just money, and they're just citizens right? who gives a fuck! no one!

Yeah, I agree. They do the same thing in Bingo parlors here. Except they have a non-smoking bubble... But yea. It works great. It's a good idea. On the other hand, I realize the price I have to pay to go and have a cigarette is to go outside and put on my coat every couple hours so I Can enjoy a cigarette. And besides, smoking inside, IMO, IS really pretty gross. It'll fuck up your carpet, your walls, it makes your whole house reek, and besides, it's sooooo much worse for you. Outside it's hardly noticeable except for a little bit of smell. Plus, there tends to be better air outside than inside so you'll be doing better for your lungs by going outside anyway.

thats weird. i've always found it easier to cook my own food from scratch and pack my own lunches when i go to work. especially when you consider the amount of food you can make. this is especially true of pasta and soup. the only exception is buying out of season produce from the supermarket. thats a bitch. but you can reduce your reliance on out of season produce by preserving.
i could mail you a jar of tomato soup i made in august thats a serious offer. i like you enough to do that. even if i disagree with nearly every word you type. of course, it probably wont make it across the border. Last edited by mintjellie : November 10th, 2006 at 12:02 AM. |

Damn, I want soup now!!!!!
It is definitely cheaper to eat at home... Are you guys buying the coke in a glass harmonica or something? One sammich at a shop costs as much as a loaf of bread and all the fixins for 5 sammiches... |

i don't care what anyone says, ramen noodles are the shit. they have to be the most malleable food ever created. soooooo many good recipies and quick shit you can make with those things.
screw the flavor packets that come with them though, those things are god awful. |

In all actuality its probably NOT cheaper to eat out all the time when when other factors are considered: prep time, time to make it, cleaning up....I just dont have time for that. go to work from 8-5 .. class from 545-10:00 ... Its just easier to go out and have someone else clean it up. If we do buy food it goes bad so fast that its just wasted anyways.. grr.. food is sometimes an inconvenience.

<cough> craigslist <cough> <cough> freecycle <cough> and yes, i have seen mini fridges listed on freecycle. you have to find your way out of that "i have to buy everything like the good little consumer i've always been taught i should be" state of mind. there are many legal ways to get cheap or free stuff. if you're going to be living on your own soon, this site will be very helpful to you http://www.freecycle.org/ cheers, and good luck!
