this is what I have so far
I realized that it'd be easier to make wood rings by carving them from a block of wood rather than trying to bend it into a ring (I've done this before and it's worked, but it's pretty fragile). Anyway, since it's wood I can make most any shape I want (taking suggestions) and I burned those marks into the wood, so I can do a lot with that as well. The white/clear ones are Lexan. Some poor fool left a sheet of it in the scrap bin. Since the wood and plastic ones have the hole drilled out, I can make it just about any size. I'll make some smaller ones since girls tend to have smaller fingers than me. someone had requested something with hearts: I'm gonna take one of the fork rings and bend the middle two prongs into a heart. I just haven't gotten around to it yet. |

lol, will you be wearing a shirt that says Nebraska on it?
just for reference about the plastic rings. Lexan is that plastic that is used in those bullet proof bank teller windows. of course, those are about 1 1/2 inches thick and this is about 1/4 of an inch, but still...bullet proof. If someone shoots at you, you could ricochet the bullet with your ring. How cool is that? |

Wow, your stuff looks really awesome! I especially love the rings made out of the teeth of the fork, and the lexan looks pretty cool too. I think you're on to a great idea! I'd love to have something special like this to remember the last hulla. I would be more than happy to barter with you for one of those.... hmmm, now I have to think of something equally crafty to make for you.

notice: someone nicked my sheet of lexan so those two I have are the only ones I'll have unless I can find some more
also, whoever asked for hearts on their ring, I figured out a way to scorch heart shapes into wood. I'll make some of those. |

A friend of mine has had this ring made from the handle of a spoon for as long as I've known her, but she bought it originally. I remember seeing it a while ago and thinking, "I could make that" so I did. And after making one out of the handle I wanted to see what else I could make. I made some key chains out of the spoon heads, but those aren't all that cool. I might make some anyway. The rest was just me trying to come up with new things. I'm a designer so I have a background in designing all sorts of stuff and coming up with new ideas. |

what fork necklaces? I've never made a necklace, though if I can find some small chain to fuck around with I just might. I considered taking a bunch of forks and interconnecting them to make a necklace, but then I decided it would look stupid and didn't. I'm currently wearing three rings on my right hand all made from nails. It's pretty badass Whenever someone goes to shake my hand they pull their hand away and are like "oh shit!" |

aw a lexan one would be so neat! i wonder what else you could turn into rings and things...hmmm...keys? the fork ones are really cool. i always wanted a spoon ring made out of an ornate spoon handle (probly like the one your friend bought)

I'm gonna make a trip out to a salvo or a goodwill, they sell utensils for like 10 cents a piece. you can sometimes find interesting things there. All of the above utensils were taken from my school's dining hall.
The key idea is interesting. I'd try it out if I had a spare key laying around. Sometimes when I'm bored with nothing to do at work (I work in a wood shop) I look around and see what scraps I can turn into stuff. I recently did nails. I'm thinking nuts and washers next. |
