I'm pretty certain they randomly pull cars for more thorough search as just part of their routine. Sometimes they'll take a look in the trunk, ask for id from everyone in the car etc. The thing to remember is that it's all routine and to not freak out and give them something to be suspicious about.

I don't know how I could possibly stay calm if they ever tried to strip search me =/...
Just doesn't seem like a situation I'd be too comfortable in. Luckily I ain't going over the border until I go to Moscow in the summer. = P |

they can stripsearch me anytime, i'll be sure to wear my special underpants.
I'm pretty sure they'll stop us, five young adults, listening to techno, crammed into my pontiac crossing the boarder at about midnight on a friday. OH WELL. so it takes us a lil longer to get to toronto. My favorite is when they ask if we all know each other. They did that over the summer and we were like what?

hahahah! you should've been like: "No sir, I stoped at the gas station, went to pay for the gas, and when I came back 3 of these people were sitting in the car, I was in such a hurry I didn't kick themout... Plus, they were headed for the border too... And I didn't notice the other one until you pointed him out now... The four five pound bags of cocaine? No I didn't notice those either." I might've stoped making sense... it's 5 am.=P

i always bring a set of "boarder clothes". the point is to look as preppy as possible while not looking like a dealer, when crossing the boarder.
i only had my car searched one time, but they ripped it apart, 4 guys were searching it for like 45 minutes... they finally let us go though... |

I always make sure my candy is well packed in the bottom of my luggage/bags and that im dressed uber normal....the one and only time i ever had any kind of b.s. search was when i went over rainbow bridge and the people who were following us had on their candy and ravergear and shit packed to the ceiling of their car.....
but yah, border crossing can be easy as pie or a pain in the rear

I have crossed the border a coulple of times with my husband and a crap load of people kandi to the bone and we were only stopped once. So as Frolic said i am pretty sure it is just random. Just don't bring anything illegal and you should be fine. No worries.

last time i flew to toronto (weekend before last) i brought a bunch of candy, and all my beads, packed inside my suitcase. they went through it at security in minneapolis cause i was dumb and forgot we weren't checking our bags so they took my scissors but just laughed at the beads.. then going back to the states they searched my bag at customs, and dug through my bracelets. i showed them the 2 or 3 i was wearing, told them a cute little story about how my boyfriend made them for me and how i make them for friends, they saw the beads and obviously that made sense.. they didn't even question me further, nothing at all about what i did in canada or raves or anything. it took maybe 3 minutes, no big deal.
crossing the border is really not the big deal some people make it out to be, UNLESS you really are doing something wrong. you're going to party with your friends. nothing wrong with that. raving's not a crime so you don't have to act like it is. |

i feel like with driving its a bit different. i don't know why, but it seems that way to me. i've had friends get rejected from entering canada, without having done anything wrong

with how often we go to canada...its obvious that we are going to know people that have had issues with the border...but for the most part its no big deal, they can reject people for any reason....or NO reason.........and I also have heard of this happening....but I never really worry about that, the chances of that kinda stuff happening arent very big.

there are still candy junglists around....we're just undercover soldiers! i've been around a long long time, chamaeleon-like, the oldercandy kidz adapt to the world around them. just because it doesn't always show on the outside, doesn't mean the torch isn't still 'a' burnin'... once a raver, always a raver.....for life. you can say i'm a candy-junglist-with-an-Omie-twist, always evolve, and if your outsides change....so what? it's the inside torch that needs keeping. And that's what we all have to remember when the last Hulla goes down in July..... Good things never die. remember that. stay true to yourselves, and keep the spirit alive....if people wanna laugh, let'm laugh..they don't know what they're missing. And all you kidz state-side....keep being strong and brave, keep spreading the soundwaves and smiilz...don't let anything stand in the way of your vision....I've experienced anti-candyness stateside....but you know what? all of those people are in the dark...spark it up and giv'em some light....even the tiniest spark penetrates the darkness. See you all in July. |
