good luck with all that, usually we stay at the clarion on sherbourne, or the days inn on carlton, there are not really any hotels that are REALLY close.

If you're cool with hosteling there's the Canadian Backpackers Inn at 42 Widmer St. I stayed there in Dec, it was great. It's 2 blocks from the queen st streetcar that will put you right in front of the venue. Me and mine will be there.
You can find 'em online at www.hostels.com PM me if you want anymore info.

I stayed at the same place for Enchanted. Nice place, a bit confusing to get to if you don't know the area though. But exhaustion + stress could have had a lot to do with that. |

the Clarion Inn and Suites on Sherbourne is BY FAR the best hotel i've ever stayed in in toronto, and i now refuse to stay anywhere else...you're about 10 mins from the opera house, on a route that it's almost impossible to get lost on, the staff is great and will give you a super late check out if you ask nicely, and the price is really reasonable (4 of us stayed for 2 nights over New Year's for $46 american each)
if you do decide to stay there, tell Lucinda, the front desk girl, that sunny and courtney say hi

I know that courts and sunny love the clarion/howard jones, but to me the hotel rooms aren't as modern as days and the amenities aren't as nice and the elevator is creepy....bed isn't as comfy.....just my opinion....but the price is comparable and if you book early enough its cheaper.... but yah im a days inn fan cuz its near yonge and there's a mini market right across the street and a diner/restaurant......

I'm looking for a cheap hotel too. Basically, the cheapest place that isn't begging for the health department to shut them down is what my group wants, hostels might be an option, but we'd prefer the private bathroom we'd get with a proper motel or hotel...

Now that might be a good option, I'm about to hit up google to find info, but if they aren't listed online anywhere, what sort of rates are we looking at? Especially for saturday/sunday, we'll only be there a few hours in the morning, no sense paying for 24 hours if we don't have to... |

yea that kicked ass, i TOTALLY recommend priceline.. it doesn't get much better than a 3-star hotel for $35/night, in DOWNTOWN. it'd be sweet if everyone did that, we could have a raver party at the hotel. |

Everytime I go home past 3am I have to take a bus from Queen And Broadview, so I end up standing in front of it early in the morning looking all sketchy... People walking their dogs give me dirty looks...And the bus takes freaking HOURS. =(
