^^^ Sounds like a Darwin Award to me.

I'm really looking forward to the next four parties and their is no way in hell I'd miss the last one. If all goes well I'll have room in my vehicle for anyone willing to split the cost of getting there (to any of them).

Not to tell Frolic how to do his job, but I hope he gets a bigger venue for July. That's just my opinion, though.

Hehehe I would not recomend a hotel in the area of the Opera House, however if you are going to book hotels etc I recomend Expedia.ca I got a great deal on a hotel in Montreal on there.

I don't know if you should go all out and rent a van or bus, that can be quite expensive and if you did rent a van you are likely going to need to pay for milage, and if you rent a bus you are going to need to pay for the driver and a hotel for the driver. Just things to take into consideration before undertaking a monumental task.

renting a mini van isn't that much more than a car.......the days in on carlton is my fav hotel cuz its not that expensive and its right near yonge and only a couple blocks from queen and the opera house is like a $7 cab fare from the hotel.

they are small if you are putting 10+ ravers in there. if you are only housing 4 people they are fine for the price plus the location. as far as cleanliness and price go, they are the best.
i think the old hojo is okay but the elevator and the beds aren't that comfy.
the water pressure and the showers are cleaner and nicer at days and the others are more money.

We won't be at a bigger venue for the same reason we've been at the same venue for the last 3 years - there simply aren't any.

In addition, no one has more emotional investment in Hulla than I do so it's important to me that I enjoy our farewell as much as anyone, and not be stuck at the front door arguing with goombah mafioso types all night and have to experience the event by listening to tapes afterwards. Which is essentially how the first 3 years of Hulla were for me.

There will be a much publicized on-sale date for the tickets when it's time, and we'll just let them sell-out and let the feathers fly after that.

Despite the simple logic of supply and demand, I'll be very disappointed if the ticket price has been jacked.

I wouldn't mind a jacked-up price if it came with a better venue.

Oh, I'll definitely be scalping tickets at 3x the price outside the venue

have you thought about the kool haus??

Theory parties are big and the place still has some room left, bigger than the operah house.
Plus they are always well organized, im sure you would have little if any problems there

Kool Haus is 19+.

While the party is still far away and plans still yet to be laid I have no plans to raise ticket prices for it. In fact, I'm going to take a hit since I'll be losing the higher door sales as well. I just want a nice stress free night.

As I get things organized I'll start helping people get linked up with hotels in the area... at the moment I'm just sounding out who needs rides from where and who has spare seats available.

There's already been a lot of interest and I'm glad everyone is pitching in to help.

For you out of towners planning on coming, I HIGHLY recommend watching this site like a hawk come March/April and pouncing on your tickets ASAP... I'm not sure if the standard Hulla out of towner policy will still apply since there will be no door ticket sales and this WILL sell out, I suspect, within days if not hours. I'd even encourage you to consider planning for December, February, or April instead, to make sure you get to come - just because they won't be the last does NOT mean they won't be amazing, trust me. I haven't missed a Hulla since I started raving and every one of them has been more than memorable.

Again, feel free to spread the original post to your local message board, communicate with newbies or friends who've never been raving (just be sure to include my email/MSN: DynamicUno@usa.com, so they know who to contact)... every one of these last 4 will be amazing and I'll do my best to co-ordinate all y'all so that whoever wants to get here can get here.

Thanks again to all the helpers... you guys are really making a difference... just remember YOUR first Hulla... you're helping make that possible for people thousands of miles away... I'm proud of y'all and we're just getting started.

yes, for "raves".

We had 2 shows at that venue back when it was called the Warehouse, but they stopped doing raves in 99. 19+ events, that are essentially raves still are allowed though.

i must get tickets, i will buy a bahjillion when they are put on sale...that way any friend i have that cant afford it at the time can just get one from me, and no i dont mark it up, how plurry is that! I AM VERY VERY sad that it wont be at a larger venue, I would be willing to pay upwards of 50 a ticket for a bigger venue, I DO understand that there are no venues but what about LARGE LARGE places....I dont know what toronto has, but here in minneapolis places like the metrodome and the target center come to mind...i looked into it when I was throwing a party and it was WAY too much money, but but...yea...
i do understand though
oh and announce december before i burst lol

I hate to sound like a broken record, but there's truly nothing available. The only large convention centre space is our Exhibition grounds, but you'd need a party of 10,000 to make that work. Cost of the building alone is $100k. Add to that number another $200k to put on an event worthy of that venue. It was used back in the day when promoters were able to get those kinds of numbers, but no one has used that space in 4 years.

We're having the same conversation here as has existed on this board for 4 years, and that's everyones desire to "party like it's 1999" again, but that era is long gone and if I've been unable to do anything like that now, I'm certainly not going to risk it all for our last show. As Silver1 said in another thread, we're retiring Hulla, not bankrupting it .

I think our only hope is if somehow someone has enough pull to get a bigger (unshadey) venue without tons of $$$ ... I'm guessing because of location outside would be impossible.. too cold? :P
