Just plain sad!
I woke up this morning to read some of the saddest news I could hear. Hulla is coming to a close, and it is the end of a wonderful era. You never think that another rumor of it being over would be true, but all things must come to an end sometime. It is very depressing to see more and more things end, another sign that the scene we knew is dead and gone. At least it stayed strong through it all, and even though it may not be like it was at larger venues, it still had a following like none other. It was a great run and I hate to see it go, but I am glad that I got to enjoy what I did. I definitely plan to get as much as I possibly can out of this last season. Hope to see you all there!

The only thing you need to have a hulla is to have hundreds of candy kids show up to the same hardcore party. If you can all get over it and dump out your tearbuckets and get out to parties instead of feeling sorry for yourselves that parties are dead, nothing will be dead at all.

Its been years since I posted. I even had to register a new name... I'm by no means a hulla veteran. The first hulla I went to was Funtopia 2. The next one I went to was Funtopia 3 and I fell in love with Hulla. I went to Rythem of Life and had a blast dispite the fact that... well you all know what happened there. I went to 3 parties at the opera house after that (turn up the music, make believe, field of dreams) but after the third one i went to at the opera house I got tired of the venue and I havent been to a hulla since (besides the hulla tent at WEMF).
I just want to say, that if Frolic had anyway of bringing back the big events. I would pay just about anything to experience the magic I felt so many years ago. I know soooo many people who feel the same way (a lot of my friends stopped going to hulla becuase of the opera house). It made me really sad when I read Frolics message today. I always hoped that I would return to hullabaloo. |

I don't think there is anybody who has the cash flow and balls to start the hulla tradition of throwing big parties that involve UK headliners and amazing local djs every 3 months right now... What he really can do to help the scene survive is make his contact list public, so people who have the drive can easily throw big parties if they so desired ... Frolic has done so much for the scene...

well personally I'm sad cuz I didn't start going to Hulla until this year. But Orbz is right everybody can still get together and go to parties-yes it won't be the same, but as long as there are ravers there will be raves, and something else great will come along somewhere down the line.

Maybe they will now....If I recall, part of the reason of OSR was to put more time into GFZ.

hulla was my first party [The Anthems - July 5 2002] and since then been to every hulla [cept for Get Hype] and didn't plan on stoppin for a while yet! Hulla was what started my raving!!
Theres no other party like Hullabaloo. Its the only party that plays almost all HHC, has that kandi kid vibe, the happy vibe, wicked mc's, ALWAYS wicked DJ's, ....its just really depressing! WHYYYYYY?!? why did frolic decide to do this? is it cause of Gavin? maturing? Money? maybe this was answered, but...yea? whY |
