I'm not trying to say anything against what you do at all. People would still go to hulla even if you had a mime on stage. I was just trying to say that I don't think people would mind seeing something new. Of course we appreciate the legends, but at some point these guys are going to want to stop, so why not start phasing in the next generation?

Frolic does a great job. People travel from all over canada and the US to come to a party. That costs money (from hotel, tickets, transportation, food & extras) and you want it to be reliable. You don't want it getting shut down, DJ's not showing up, etc, once all your money is spent. Thats why I'm not going back to WEMF .... EVER. Whether a DJ has played in the past 7 months or a year shouldn't be an issue. Most big names put on a good show and I'm not saying local DJ's don't but how often are you going to see Hixxy or Dougal etc.?

i agree with everyone in this thread on some level, i find it VERY hard to believe that in the 7 years frolic hasnt dealt with TONS of negativity, i know in my short career so far of throwing events, i have gotten TONS, he said in this thread that because of some of the complaints it might start to not become fun for him anymore....wow.....5 people complain out of the 1000s that have attended hullabaloos and it might not be fun anymore...constructive critisism at that, i realize that for 7 years you have done just fine and you dont think you need the advice, than take it or leave it, but i know it makes me look at you with some negativity when you get upset over 5 peoples complaining...
I hope THIS doesn't offend you, but a lot of my friends have been talking about this lately.. Now on a positive note, I believe that whoever you book for hulla will be great, and I can't wait for the september hulla, I hope they will always be fun for ME, but all of this drama on the boards makes it harder to just get excited and get your outfit ready to go..... You can take or leave my suggestion, but I think it would look better upon you if you just ignored people who talk crap about you, you know you are doing a good thing, you dont need to justify yourself.I know from experience its hard to hear people bitch about things that simply dont need to be bitched about, but its what ravers do, its gunna happen no matter if you brought 15 hardcore headliners and had a 15 room venue and went for 8 days straight, people will find something to complain about...i know when it was happening to me, it felt better to ignore it..

Carrie, you're right, sometimes I forget the power of the internet allowing a few big mouths to pollute the whole picture. I know the vast majority of people on here support everything I do, and only want to help. My feathers got a little ruffled, but I've dealt with the venom spitters and we can all move on forward .

Regaudless of the headliner, most people have a blast because partys are not just about the music but a chance to see friends they dont live near.
I speak from experiance when i say that the "best partys" happen when i see alot of my friends there, regaurdless of the headliner.
