Why is it exactly that I can't bring a generator across the boarder? Also, last resort, why not pick up an inverter (turns DC to AC) and run the party off a car battery or engine? It worked when the power went out last year...

they might not stop you at the border for just a generator. you could always say it was in your trunk because you used it for soemthign else earlier in the week and left it in there... they would definitly give you a problem if you had a generator and tables and boxes of records and such... but then again theres no guarantee that they would let you through with a generator either
we need some of our canadian friends to help us all out after-party-wise...theres got t o be soemone that could make this happen... someone thatmightbe willing... sorry my typing id extra bad. ikm on my friends laptop and t he keyboard is all werid and foreign to me

haha.. for 5 minutes until the amps suck up all the charge from the battery..
you'll have a lot full of cars that wont start and a good handfull of sketchy ravers with no music.. not a good combination!

Okay, first of all I charged our cell phones and ran a fridge for 24+ hours and I still had a charge in the jumper battery we were using. Second, I was assuming the automobile would be running so the alternator would be recharging the battery. Also, this would be easy because you could just rent a vehicle with AC outlets built into it already (Pontiac Vibe, i think)
But fine. Maybe I'm underestimating the amount of power you'll need or the length of time you think this event will last, so get me some specs on this phatty rave gear yo! However, a friend of mine does have an old school bus that he gutted and installed a heated juccusi (sp?), TV, VCR, DVD, game systems, tables and speakers into all of which run off of the engine. I think he took it to Burningman. Granted it's diesal, but you get the idea. I just really want this to happen and not be lame. And I don't have tables, records, or talent, so power would be the least of our worries. There's 7 Home Depots in T-dot, just rent one already. laterz. |

Hmm after driving to Cherry Beach this past Sunday morning after HOTC I don't understand how it is within walking distance from the Opera House? I am sooo up for going but getting there and back outta the industrial beach area to where I can call a cab may be a slight problem...

^^^ i'm sure someone at the beach will be able to give you ride back to somewhere where you can get a cab. i don't really see that being a problem. i mean i've actually found rides all the way back to buffalo from toronto by just asking around. im sure someone there will be able to drive you a few miles (if even that far) and drop you off
