I completely agree with no "sped up trance" happy hardcore. I LOVE trance but am still dissapointed when the hhc dj's don't play "happy" happy hardcore. Thats what i am there for... i WANT TO HEAR THE GOOD STUFF goooooo pacific sun.... goooooo pleasure and pain.
Cheers

They still play alot of HHC though. Well some. All sounds good to me though hehe. My request would be for ; Force / Styles or Ad Man / Demo "Pleasure And Pain " and Nakatomi - Children Of The Night (Remix) is a MUST |

Yeah usualy the local dj's will throw a few into their sets but rarely do the headliners. This being the reasoning why I usualy prefer to dance to the local dj's and rest up during the headlines... the opposite of most ppl. Ah well that just means less crowded dance floor time for me!!!

Ohhh i'll be there alright I've only missed one hulla since hulla 2? I really only go for good company of friends, meeting some new ppl. and enjoying maybe 5 tracks all night...and seeing the hard work the friendship crew puts in I used to come home with no voice and pretty much blisters from parties...but now there is a handful or less, tracks to sing along to...it just doesn't have the same effect. Not saying hullas are bad, cause i love hullas. BUT, it's just a shame that 99% of every set consists of oh so wonderful " unreleased " material that NOBODY knows and can't sing along to ( HAH! as if there's any lyrics to sing along to anyways ) and doesn't know when the right part of the track hits to just go crazy, etc...I constantly see myself and my friends looking at eachother pretty much dumbfounded cause we have no idea what we're listening to anymore. |

Keron:
The only way a new song becomes popular is to play it out. I know hardcore compilation cds are not as easy to get here other than the happy 2b hardcore series, but the fact is a lot of the songs that are played out are in fact old and on a number of compilations from overseas. The fact that NOBODY knows a song and can't sing along to it, well of course that is going to be the case at first. There are a shedload of full on vocal tracks that people play. In fact I'd say that the majority of the night at hulla consists of vocal based tracks! Just because you don't know it doesn't stop it from being good. Sure it's not the instant gratification that one gets from hearing Shooting Star, but that doesn't happen after hearing it one time. Rather than folding your arms and looking around when you hear a song that you don't recognize off the bat why not try and get into it instead :P it's not as if hardcore has some completely new structure with 6/8 timing and "intelligent" sounds. It's still high energy dance music. I'm sure you've bought albums of other types of music where at first you thought the album was nothing special, but upon repeated listenings you grow to love it. I love the old eyeopener's and heart of golds just as much as the next person. But a lot of those songs are 6 or 7 years old now! It's time for some new anthems don't you think? |

Along with what Frisky said. I have Frisky's set from Fires In The Sky which hasn't left my discman in the last week. (unless to jump to my sterio, then back into my discman in time for work) At the party (no offence Frisky) I wasn't too impressed because other than maybe 3 songs I wasn't really all that familliar with the songs he spun (because of a small hiatus from parties). Now I have been listening to the cd from start to end a lot lately and as it turns out I love this set. Even though there is maybe only on athem like song on there the rest of the stuff is REALLY really good, and I can't wait to hopoefuly get to experiance some of these songs again at this upcoming party and hopefuly appreciate them a lot more this time around! Thanks for spinning great tracks Frisky, I can't wait to hear your set at Accelerator!
