What does Hulla mean to you?
To me Hulla will forever remind me of a time in my life when I went out with my friends to parties a LOT from '98-'01. It was a place where I did the most dancing to HHC & actually wore funfur & a stickered-up visor & had a "book" (haha). Hulla was the better of the "vibes" in Toronto by far. It was a party that was greatly anticipated. Hulla was a place that I had a very enjoyable time with the backdrop of music that means something to me then/now & always, with people who were there to do the same. There will always be some HHC tracks, that when I hear them, I'll recall people shouting out jovially: "HAPPY HULLABALOO!"

What do you think Hulla means to the scene?
As far as HappyHardcore in Toronto, it is definitely the most fun that I experienced. From top-notch security, dedicated promotion, legit business sense (you never felt that it was sketchy or that some preventable bad shit might happen) fun decor, a solid group of talented resident MCs & DJs to the Friendship Crew, the outstanding recordings etc etc etc, there are SO many reasons Hulla is a standout as far as I'm concerned, when thinking about the "scene" in Toronto. Hulla was able to sustain a level of success in a city where a lot of promoters couldn't. From the glory days of BigTop, Foreverland & venues like the CNE, the Jane7 Bingo Hall, Convention Centres, to the later years in the Opera House, something about Hulla kept people coming.

Your ultimate Hulla set/memory:
My ULTIMATE Hulla memory is by far ALL GOOD THINGS. It was the most amazing party I have ever attended & probably always will be. Everyone there was there to appreciate Hulla & have the best night possible. There were a lot of people there from way back when & a lot of the newbs too. I heard a kid that night tell his friend "I have NEVER been to one like THIS before!" I thought that was very sweet. But how could it not be true? It was really the only time that I can say that I truly felt that everyone (talent, crowd, promoters, volunteers etc.) was there to have fun & celebrate together, knowing that it was a historical party. Frisky's set was a definite stand out to me, I can get chills just thinking about that "Children of the Night" sing-along. I was fortunate enough to be there from when the doors opened until the lights came on. Speaking of chills Frolic's set was one that will never be duplicated as far as emotion. Hearing 800+ people scream the lyrics to Eyeopener, Shooting Star, then HEART OF GOLD is not something you can experience & not remember forever.

Thanks to the Frolics for your dedication & hard work to make Hulla everything that it was. And for not throwing in the towel when it must have seemed like the easy thing to do. All the resident Hulla talent, you were the DJs & MCs that I could see were having FUN & were once Hulla party folk too. The Friendship Crew, you made Hulla friendly always. I am glad that Hulla ended on it's own terms & in such a fantastic night. To any of the crew that I partied with from back in the day: we certainly had fun didn't we? HULLA 4 EVER
