Oh no, I'm a total boob nazi (i.e.: militant breastfeeder). Public breastfeeding doesn't even remotely faze me.
My feeling is that discreet nursing doesn't help anyone because most people don't even realize a woman is nursing her baby; then they get the idea that nursing a baby isn't something women do in public. The only way the general public is going to get used to women breastfeeding is if they see indiscreet nursing on a regular basis. So when I breastfeed I try to be as public as possible and show as much skin as possible without actually making it a hassle for myself (i.e.: taking off my shirt entirely would be additional hassle, but pushing my shirt above my breasts isn't an additional hassle). If people like me aren't willing to push the issue, nobody will, and then women will continue to be afraid to nurse in public.
Sometimes I feel like most of my life is a political issue... but hey, somebody has to do it, and it may as well be me.
