i've never had a problem crossing the border with candy.. we drove in september and did greyhound this time, we bring tons of candy as well as buckets of beads to make more when we get to the hotel. the key is just to not WEAR it across, and don't wear any raver-ish stuff at all. if you look and act totally normal when crossing the border nobody even looks twice at you and they don't dig into your stuff at all. i usually just try to seem like a tired bored college kid spending the weekend drinking in canada with friends. plus i wear my pajamas for the long drive... who's gonna suspect a girl in pjs carrying a pillow?!?
but i understand not wanting to get stopped.. i've heard some bad stories.
