Monochromatic - multiple tints, tones, or shades of a single hue
Analogous - two or three colors side-by-side on the color wheel
Complementary - those colors directly across from each other on the color wheel

Then you can think of values, intensity, and warmth. More intense or warmer a color is the more stimulating it can be psychologically. Blues, blue-greens, and purples can induce the most pleasure whereas yellows and yellow-greens are the least pleasurable.
