Ok, I've turned on Profile photos. If you enter your control panel you'll see you have the ability to upload a larger pic of yourself to show up there if someone wants to look you up. Click on my name to see mine. Max size is 250 x 250, so it's different than just an avatar.

Speaking of Avatars, I've upped the size limit to 80 x 80 and 8k for uploading your own.
