But you do, in the form of the extraordinarily high Canadian taxes. It seems like it's free but it actually isn't. And there's plenty of things not covered under OHIP - such as prescription drugs - that are covered under most American insurance plans.

To me, having had experience with both systems, it seems like 6 of one and 1/2 dozen of the other.
