i agree. i haven't heard of anabolic frolic or most of the dj's on the flyer. Seems like this party has a lot of hype but i still can't figure out what all the hubub is over. this coming from an old skool Detroit party person.

I guess this is the hardcore scene representin'

house foreva.

Darn! Well as long as Paul Oakenfold still shows up I'm happy.

kangaroOC March 10th, 2007 06:57 PM

paul oakenfold will be there, so will richie hawtin. they're both huge fans of hardcore.

I've had my fair share of fun in the 313. How are things up that ways today?

kylefabulous March 11th, 2007 08:06 PM

the d is as ghetto as ever.. there are a few different scenes...

there is always the Ghostly kids and Detroit Techno Militia they run the minimal and the techno scenes here in town... they hold most the clubs and residencies...

there is also a good amount of undergroud house music ... terrance parker, minx, derek, stacey pullen...

THEN...

there are like 2 venues throwing more expansive parties... with wider range of music... HOuse and Breaks... GASP!!! hahaha in detroit
they have a warehouse venue down in eastern market Burt's, that they use exclusively... it's huge .. fucking awesome venue... wish we could get some good promoters...

kandeegirl2 March 12th, 2007 12:05 AM

wow. using dj lineups to gage a party....
hehehehe

kangaroOC March 12th, 2007 12:44 AM

i grew up in west bloomfield and no longer live there. i took off in 2000 soon after the scene started dying. I live in socal now and roll with spundae.com. from what i hear there isn't really much of a scene in detroit nowadays. richie hawtin moved to Berlin and the cops crack down on teh underground parties.

heres some more reading for your pleasure.

richie hawtin can lick my ass... he's a dick.. but a wonderful dj... he would fit right in with all those schieza loving folk in berlin =0 hehe *i'm being an ass*

also... detroit doesn't even have cops... there are so few police left on staff in detroit, they dont even DREAM of having the time to bust raves... thats just bullshit...

and as for working for spundae, mad props, i love the ferry corsten spundae album.. not sure which, or if there is more than one.. i have it in my car now...

just a little more reading for your pleasure.. =-0

I'm not sure if I know who's involved with D-town Militia. Unless its Dezi, Will (Crisp) and Amy (Sparklez)? It's been awhile since I've really talked to anyone from your way. I used to party with the UUK (Uptown Underground Kids) If you know as to who I'm talking about.
