Happy Hulla!!!

Due to circumstances beyond my control I won't be able to party hard this Hulla like in Hullas past, and believe me, I sorely miss it already. :\

BUT Don't let that bring you down, have a GREAT Hullabaloo and I hope to see you all at BANG in September, becuase

HARDCORE WILL NEVER DIE ;)

Happy Hullabaloo crew, and may this never ever go away :)

Damn it. Why is D-minus spinning LAST AGAIN!?!?!?!?

Seizure July 4th, 2004 01:03 PM

Because the last set is a big one... following a trance set... the DJ has to make the party go out with a bang... and Donny is perfect for the job.

He Jumper says the SAME thinks over and over.... those so called lyrics of his he also used not only @ HOTC, but also @ Enchanted, FITS, Funtopia, ETC ETC ETC...

The same goes with Storm, he is even more annoying cause well he gets booked more shows and says the same shit over and ove and over and over:aaargh:

Bubbles_2486 July 17th, 2004 10:56 AM

Well there's a new up and coming mc and he writes all new lyrics and they're really good:D Mc Loki

anabolic frolic July 17th, 2004 01:40 PM

DJ's have records, MC's have rhymes. It's their tools of the trade. They drop them when it's appropriate in the set, and after a while people get to know then and even start to recite them back. It gets to be after you've listened to a recorded live set with an MC over it, the rhyme becomes burned over the song in your memory. It's all part of it.

Any aspiring MC should listen to the recordings of Storm at this past Hulla, because it really is a clinic in how to work a crowd. The fact is there's no one better out there at getting every last bit of energy out of the audience.

I disagree with this statement. I myself feel that Gobstopper is the Ultimate Hardcore MC. His rhymes are so much better than Storm's, and he puts out a hell of alot more energy than Storm does. I'm not talking shit on Storm what so ever, believe me, I'm not. He is def. agreat MC, but I feel that Gobstopper can work the crowd better than Storm. If you look at the 2 while their on stage doing their thing, it seems to me that Gobstopper is having more fun, and that is the key! Once again, this is my opinion

Everybodies_Daddy July 17th, 2004 05:47 PM

I love watching any MC that has a distinct sound, and is making love to the music while he spits rhymes.

Storm, JD and Gobstoppa are three of my favourites. When I first started out I'd pick things I liked about all of them, and try to adapt them to my own style. There's a real message in a lot of Storms rhymes, and I think too many MC's spit nonsense. Gobstoppa is unbelievably talented and has a never ending repetoire. JD has such beautiful flow to the music. MC Ruff was so silky smooth, and so varied in tempo and style. Trigga could change his rhythm mid verse and just blow my mind. E-By-Gum was just plain fun.

There's a lot of brilliant MC's out there, and we've been blessed at Hullabaloo to see all of them over the years.

all mcs say alot of the same things. like chris said djs have records mcs have flows. if a flow, just like a record, gets a good response the mc is more inclined to use it again to again get a good response. storm and jumper are reusing the same flows that are considered their trademark wicked ryhmes. every mc does it. gobbstoppa may not seem like it because he has a ton of flows and he can freestyle, but he does.

I perfer if they used the same rhmyes or whatever for ONE track...

For example, when Storm was using the rhymes he used for Just Accept It, that was pretty good, I actually was enjoying it...

Another example, when Gobstoppa uses the same rhymes for the track Prince of Darkness over and over, I also like that....

BUT when one Mc uses the sames rhymes or flows over and over for every freaking track, it is wayyyyyyy annoying.... Gobstoppa does not do that but Storm and Mc Jumper LOVE that shit, but many people dont:aaargh:
